It was the eve of her destruction,
and all hope had disappeared.
The darkness had found her again,
and the evil queen took over who she once was.
It seemed that try as she may,
the darkness always won again.
Magic seemed wonderful to the untrained,
as she had once been.
But now she knew better.
It had happened so fast,
she had barely known what was happening.
That awful power, strong as it may be,
possessed her to do things that hurt her very being.
Her eyes had turned purple,
she remembered smiling in the mirror,
And the evil queen who she once was had taken over.
Regret filled her heart and soul at the memory of what had happened afterwards.
Of course that was months ago,
and it was to late for her.
She had tried again,
the thirst for vengeance had returned.
And she had tried to kill her.
She had tried to kill Snow White.
Of course it had failed, it always did.
But it was enough, for them to bring what they called justice.
Her death was to be coming, and she could do nothing.
Her magic was bound,
and she had no one who could love her.
Not now, not after what she had done.
So now, it is was the eve of her destruction,
the advent of her doom,
And she had nothing to do but sit in her cold and lonely cell.
Some may have screamed for release,
or maybe even cried bitter tears,
but Regina knew better.
She knew it wouldn't work.
So instead she sat there, not moving at all.
Silent as the shadow dancing across the wall.
It was the eve of her destruction,
And no matter how hard she had tried,
she could not muster one bit of regret.
For, why should she,
when all she had done was fight for what she had thought was right?
Written for the 100 prompts challenge, I of course, own nothing.
