Beep. Beep. Beep.
"She is forty hours post-op, she should be up by now!" A panicked voice said almost yelling. It was easy to tell that they were female.
Click. Click. Click.
"Everyone's recovery time is different. Especially with the trauma she went through. You should know this, Amelia." Another voice said, it was a males' voice.
"I don't care about the trauma she went through! It has been nineteen hours!" The female voice said again, her name probably Amelia.
"Yes, let's give her some more time." A completely different voice said. A bunch of voices started up and they were almost yelling.
"Everyone! She is waking up!" A voice called above the rest of the voices. They all went completely quiet. My eyes began to open, the light was so bright, I had to close my eyes again. It took a lot of energy, but I opened my eyes again.
I looked to my left, there was an IV bag hanging from a pole, I followed the line and it lead into my arm. By the IV pole was a monitor, it beeped with every heartbeat. Exploring the rest of the room I looked in front of me. There was maybe five people standing in the room, and there was one or two other people standing outside of the room and they started to rush into the room.
"Hey, Sapphire, can you hear me?" A man asked and walked up right beside me. He had short blonde hair and looked older. He flashed a light in my eyes. I stared at him because I had nothing else to do.
Everything hurt, it hurt so horribly bad. My head ached and it radiated all the way down to my toes. I couldn't even breath, I could feel a machine doing it for me. He took his hands in mine, and as he did I almost passed out from the pain.
"Can you squeeze my hands?" He asked. The rest of the room was completely quiet, staring at me, watching my every move. I wanted to do as he asked, but moving my arms at all was too painful so I stayed still. He sighed before retracting his hands, dropping my arms onto the bed. It sent another shock of pain through me causing me to wince.
The man gave a silent glare towards everyone in the room before he ushered them out and went to speak with them. I tried to turn my head to watch them, but I was in so much pain I couldn't. I heard them talking, and I could only pick up some random works, like: Brain injury...trauma...wait...
The list went on. Before I could listen in anymore, I let myself fall into the depth of unconsciousness.
