Link awoke at 9:00AM. He slipped out of bed and put on his tunic. Zelda was fast asleep and she rolled over to where he was. Link smiled and chuckled to himself. Zelda continued to sleep while Link walked out onto the balcony of their house. Some birds flew by and Link felt the soft breeze tugging at his sandy hair. Later that morning Epona stopped by Link and Zelda's house. When Link looked into her brown eyes something seemed wrong. There was a worried look in the mare's brown eyes. She was tense and seemed jumpy. Link hopped on Epona and called Zelda up. They rode off into the sunrise with Epona. Once they reached castle town it was about 12:00AM. Link hopped off Epona and patted the mare's back. "Thanks, girl." said Link as he fed Epona a sugar cube. Epona whinnied and dashed off into the distance. Link ran to catch up with Zelda doing the morning shopping. "Hey Zelda, Have you seen anything wrong with Epona lately? She seems really tense and scared all the time lately." Zelda looked confused "I have seen her tense but I have no idea why." Link walked off to Telma's bar while Princess Zelda continued getting the day's supplies. Link walked in and Telma welcomed him in. "So have you seen anything weird going on lately?" Link asked Telma as he sat down on one of the bar stools. "No other than that there has been weird stuff going on next to a stream." "Like what?" asked Link. "Well I saw a curious horse go drink from it. Then that mare vomited up blood and seemed really scared. All I saw after that was a strange reflection in the water. It looked like a mirror." Link's blue eyes opened wide "Oh Crap! That's what happened to Epona!" The young warrior said his goodbyes and darted out the door. Link ran to Zelda and told her all about the strange happenings. "Why the hell did that happen?! We have to go make sure she's ok!" Link and his wife ran off to find Epona. By the time they reached Ordon Village it was dark. Illia was tending to Epona and washing a wound she had. "Oh you poor thing…" She whispered to the mare. Link and Zelda ran up to Illia and asked her what happened. "She was caught in a spring trap. It got her right hoof. "She's going to have to stay here until it's healed." Link immediately felt bad for the mare. Him and Zelda made a deal with Illia about keeping Epona until she was healed and left. Link dropped off Zelda at home and went out looking for the strange stream Telma spoke of. He wanted to find out what happened to Epona. Link walked up to the stream with gold water and he unsheathed his sword.
