Emotionally Complete with Happy
A/N: This is a short fic with Raven's emotions from my other fic Shopping for Dreams. You don't need to read it to understand most of this, but if you've read it, good for you because you'll understand a little bit more and thanks for reading. :)

Sitting alone on a bench within the recesses of Raven's mind, Sadness stares up at the sky and just wonders about everything, letting herself be absorbed and engulfed with her own being, sadness. She watches as a leaf drifts down from the tree above her and gently plucks it from the air, softly running her fingers over the fine veins. Then Sadness looks up… and sees the tree is crying tears of green, shedding these solid drops to comfort her as she waits for her lover.
And the sky turns from bright to night, and still she waits. Then as her head is turned up to the sky with tears softly trickling down, arms wrap around her waist and she knows that her lover has returned. Face masked in shadow, lips descend upon hers in a soft and meaningful kiss. No words of apology are passed, but Sadness is used to this… Happy is constantly running late. Happy pulls back and grins sort of calmly in a comforting way and softly kisses the tears away.
"Hey there, I've been waiting for you…" Sadness smiles softly. Only Happy could make her smile in such a sweetly sad way.
"I've only just gotten back…" Happy takes a seat beside Sadness, and they sit there leaning upon each other.
Together, they spend the night just holding each other. Warmth is shared between them; Sadness is happy and Happy is happy. But… soon another morning will come.
Happy, being hyper and usually happier than the rest, was out again. Sadness had decided to sit and wait facing a broad lake today. The birds are twittering and chirping, but somehow she is still sad. Truly for her, there is no happiness in life without her lover Happy. And she wonders about many things as she sits there… 'Where is she now?' 'Is she safe?' and then the one that bites like a dagger 'I hope she will never forget that I love her… does she love me as much as I love her?' And every time the last thought comes into her head, she reassures herself because Happy promised her and she had promised back.
Then someone comes to sit beside her, and it's not Happy, but her friend Love. Now, Love was in a long distance relationship, to say the least, and knew the look in Sadness's eyes. She wrapped her arm around her friend's shoulder to comfort her.
"Hey Sadness, you don't look very well. Would you like to hang out with me?" Love gazed in sympathy when she noticed the tearstains that trailed down the girl's cheeks.
Sadness just nodded and mumbled a soft, "Yeah… that'd be nice. Thanks…"
And so, they just sat there and talked about nothing. Though, eventually they did end up talking about their relationships and there was much comforting. It was rare for Sadness to find any comfort and this visit from Love was not usual either. Then, the sun was setting, and they separated ways. Love went off to her home and Sadness sat there still waiting.
It's late now, and Sadness is tired. She stands and stretches, gazing over the water with a distant look in her eyes. Then Happy is there, taking her by the hand and holding her close. There is completeness when their hands are entwined; at least, that's what Sadness feels. They walk off into the night hand in hand. Struggles will always be there, but it will always get better if they truly love each other… and better even sooner with their strong love as long as they don't give up, that's what Sadness knows.
