The Roswell Residence

"Honey, honey wake up! Do you hear that?" Whispered Katrina.

She stared at her husband, still half asleep, droopy eyed. He tossed for a moment, then turned his head to face her, his eyes remaining shut.

"It's 1:56am Kat, whats happening?" replied Kat's husband Richard.

"I can hear noises coming from the hallway, Can you not hear it?"

Richard glanced over at their bedroom door, which was open to let the infant Summer air in.

"You do remember it's the Wilkinson's house that's had supernatural activity, not ours,"

"I'm not dreaming Richard! Stop fussing with the sheets and listen!" Richard halted all his moments and stared at his wife.

As they sat in silence, the quiet but growing sound of a ghost's moan slowly filled their ears. Kat's eyes widened as she slowly slithered out of bed, walked around the room and pulled her husband from sleep.

"Did I not mention it's nearly 2:00am? We have Vanessa's grad party tomorrow!" Richard groaned.

"Shhhh! It's getting louder," Kat pulled his arm.

They quietly tip toped of their bedroom. Stopping for a moment, Kat listened as she faced the end of the hallway and noticed the door to Vanessa's bedroom open. Katrina gulped and looked back at Richard.

"I'm sure it's ok, let's just check on her, shall we?" Richard nodded.

As they approached the bedroom, the couple found the knob to the room had been ripped off, there were large scratches on the door. Katrina slowly turned her head to face the inside and let out a blood curdling scream at the new sight.

"VANESSA!" She smashed back into her husband.

The entire room was only lit by a crescent moon floating in the night sky, everything was dark, broken. The vanity on the far wall, it's mirror smashed, makeup on the table exploded, and there sat Vanessa, crossed legged staring into space, her eyes black as a ravens wing, her bed untouched. The light of the bedroom had shattered, the drapes of the only window that led to a small balcony were gone. Vanessa turned to face her parents and smiled.

"Mom,"

"Who are you! What have you done with our daughter! Be gone spirit! Damn neighbours," Richard whispered.

Their daughter screamed, everything went black.

5:00am

Vanessa opened her eyes to a never ending grey ceiling, staring down at her feet, she found men and women with masks and lab coats on. She faced her hands and found her wrists covered with tight, black restraints. Her breathing sped up as she looked down at her feet and found her parents walking in front of the gurney, she realized where she was.

"Mom!" She screamed.

"Mom, what are you doing! This is illegal!" She yelped.

Katrina turned to face her.

"We love you sweetheart, we only want to help you,"

"Is this really necessary? Are we doing the right thing?" Richard asked her.

"We don't know what that was, we can't have it in the house. They will take care of you here darling, I promise you,"

"This is the Asylum! You can't leave me! Help, help! Someone let me go! God dammit where's Daniel!"

"How dare you speak of your brother! Doesn't matter, we're here, get her in,"

"NO!" Vanessa screamed as two men grabbed her arms, releasing her restraints, holding her arms against their strong chests.

They carried her into a room and plopped her onto the hospital bed.

Vanessa stared at the room and gasped to find a large cross on the right wall.

"What the fuck! Mom you can't do this!"

"They will cleanse you here my love, please don't hold back!"

"NO!" Katrina heard her daughter's scream all the way until she and Richard got home and fell back asleep.
