Chapter 1: Breakfast

Kyou Sohma, the accursed cat of the zodiac animals, had just risen from an exhausting sleep, filled with passionate dreams of Tohru. As if on cue, his angel popped out of the kitchen. She's so beautiful. I wish I could tell her how I feel.
"Kyou! Breakfast is ready!" Tohru said this with a carefree smile that warmed Kyou's heart.
"I'll be there in a minute." Kyou turned to go to the bathroom, only to find himself bumping into a sleeping Yuki.
"Watch where you're going, you damn rat!"
"The said should be said of you, stupid cat." The cold and calm tones of that damn Yuki were starting to piss Kyou off.
"That's it! I've had enough of this!" Kyou pulled his arm back and threw a hook at Yuki, which he deftly ducked. Kyou began to attack faster and with more ferocity, but Yuki avoided all his attacks with ease.
"Stay still, you damn rat!"
CRASH!
Tohru stepped out of the kitchen with a look of concern over her face, as she saw Kyou sprawled over the floor, with blood coming from his nose.
"Oh, my god-what happened Yuki?"
In a tone of complete ease, Yuki replied, "Nothing to worry your pretty little head over, Miss Honda. The cat decided to pick a fight and he lost. Like I said, nothing to worry about."
"But he's bleeding!" Tohru was acting frantically trying to wake Kyou up.
"I'm sure he'll be fine Miss Honda. See, he's already waking up."
"Ughhh…what happened?" Kyou opened his eyes to find a pair of chocolate-colored eyes staring back at him, with a look of concern behind them, inches from his face. A slight color began to rise to Kyou's cheeks, as he realized to those lovely eyes belonged to Tohru. Kyou, instantly scrambled away to a corner of the room.
"Kyou, you're awake. Thank goodness. You had me worried for a second." That dopey little smile of hers came across her lips as she said these words.
"What have you made us for breakfast, my sweet little flower?" said Shigure, as he stepped out of his room. His comments, only earned him looks from Kyou and Yuki.
"Hehehe…did I say something wrong?" said Shigure nervously.
"You're the one that wrong, pervert!" shouted Kyou at Shigure.
"Stop treating Miss Honda that way. Can't you see that it bothers her?" stated Yuki.
"No, no! It's fine you can keep saying it- I mean it doesn't really bother me, so you see it's okay," said a flustered Tohru.
"Now, you see there. Tohru is okay with it," Shigure cupped her cheek in his hands, " Aren't you Tohru?"
"Idiot!" said Yuki and Kyou as they both hit Shigure on the head.
"Okay then, shall we eat?" Shigure began thinking more careful in choosing his words, so as not to incur the wrath of his two cousins.
"Yuki, Kyou! We're gonna be late for school."
"Geez, we're coming already." An aggravated Kyou stepped out onto the porch. His tension melted away as he saw Tohru in front of him.
The wind had picked, causing Tohru's hair to fly across her face. She had one hand raised attempting to tuck back the flying hair behind her ear. As she was doing this, a leaf fell from one of the nearby trees, into Tohru's palms. God, she's looks…beautiful.
"Look, Kyou. It's the first day of fall. Hehe…the leaves are the same color as your hair Kyou." Tohru flashed Kyou her best smile, which caused his face to turn a slight shade of pink.
Kyou gave her in return one of his rare, awkward smiles, "Come on. Let's go to school."
A/N: Aww, the fluff. I know this chapters a little short, but it's setting up Kyou's feelings for Tohru, and how she can light up his dark days. Please review.
