I'll Be Your Strong and Steady
No one had expected them to get married after the war. Honestly she hadn't expected it to happen either. Hermione had always been a strong self motivated type of girl through school and Blaise, well he had been Blaise. Hermione had taken note throughout her years at Hogwarts the way with which he carried himself. He was a pigheaded self centered jerk, but now here she was a diamond ring glittering on left hand and screaming his name.
Oh, Don't get her wrong, she was at his first Quidditch match of the season. He had landed a spot on the English National Quidditch Team and had been making it out to his games for the past year or so. She was still at Hogwarts finishing up her N.E.W.T.s but had luckily made an exception in her study habits to come out and see him. She was one of the only people from the war to come back and finish her education. She had met Blaise right after the war. He didn't have any friends and what was left of his attitude had diminished. He had been sitting alone at o/'ne of the tables in the Great Hall watching as people patched others up and families mourned the dead. She felt bad for him so she sat down next to him. She didn't say anything, but when he looked at her with those blue eyes she knew that he was different. A couple of months later they began dating and right before she started back at Hogwarts they were married. Many people were slightly shocked, but still loved Hermione as long as he made her happy, and he did.
Now, she was sitting in the brick stands of the English Quidditch Stadium with a smile so large it was beginning to hurt. She watched as Blaise flew past her on his silver Nimbus 2000 a streak of red and white. He was eighteen and as soon as they had seen him fly that had accepted him. He had been training with them all summer. Just as he was about to toss the quaffle to a teammate a bludger hit him in the stomach knocking him from his broom. Hermione's first instinct was to lessen the fall, but he was falling too fast. As she watched him crash in the sand pit everyone around her sat down. A hush fell about the crowd and all she managed was a small, "No." It came out in a whisper but the crowd was so quiet it seemed to echo.
"Hermione…" Jerking upright the brown headed woman looked at her husband with a small sigh.
"I'm fine." She told him holding her hand up to silence him from saying anything. His shaggy brown hair was hanging down in his eyes and his light skin was exposed. Smiling slightly as he pulled her into his arms she curled her self against him contendedly.
"You had a dream about thequidditch match again didn't you?" With a slight nod into his chest she felt bad for dreaming about it again, but it had been heartbreaking.
"You almost died Blaise… it still haunts me…" Soothing her with a soft hand to her hair he pressed his lips delicately to her forehead. As her eyes fluttered back closed Blaise looked at her with a smile. He loved the fact that he had her all to himself.
"Sleep, Cara, my love." He whispered as he pulled her onto his chest. With a content sigh he loved this feeling.
