Sunshine and Sky Eyes~
Butters Stotch's eyes were the exact same color as the sky that day. Because the sky, for once, was a nice, clear blue. His own eyes were the shade of South Park's usual sky. A stormy grey that swirled and never settled.
A dandelion (or common weed, as Stan's mom always called them when she unceremoniously plucked them from her garden) brushed against his leg, forcing him to realize that Butters' hair was that color. He picked the flower up, glad that spring had become brave enough to show its face in the small town, and pressed it against his cheek. His own hair aspired to be such a vibrant shade, but fell short. A murky sort of blond. Dirty blond; he wished it had a prettier name.
"Ay! Kenny!" A ball thudded against the side of his head, causing him to drop the weed into the overgrown grass surrounding his feet. "Stop being gay and pay attention!"
Kenny sighed. Cartman simply didn't get it. Butters was radiant. It was impossible to pay attention to anything else. He picked up the football and cocked his arm back, preparing to throw. The ball spiraled a path directly into Eric's gut, sending him to lie among the weeds.
The hood-covered boy grinned and snickered slightly, although both actions went unseen beneath his coat. "Good one, Kenny!" Stan and Kyle chorused, folded in on themselves with laughter.
"I'm not gay, fat ass!" Kenny screamed at his kind-of-friend.
Cartman's eyes enflamed. "I'm not fat! I'm big boned!"
"How does he know what he said?" Clyde exclaimed from nearby, earning a punch and certain finger from Craig.
Kenny stalked away from the group, having had enough of them for the day. He found Butters making dandelion crowns near the sandbox. "They match your hair," he noted, standing awkwardly above the other boy.
Butters held the crown in front of his eyes. "Well, gee, Kenny, I guess it does! Isn't that neat?"
A smile engulfed Kenny's face and he quickly sat in order to pluck three more weeds from the ground. The smaller boy calmly taught him how to thread them together.
"Just like that! Wow, Kenny. You must be a natural!"
As a crown of gold surrounded Kenny's head, he had to reconsider what he had yelled at Cartman only moments before. But the huge grin and dandelion hair and sky eyes of Butters Stotch clouded his vision and he found he didn't really mind.
A/N: Just a little somethin'-somethin', and by little, I mean little. Because I'm in a slump and I can't stand it. You would think that having a new boyyy would make you want to write, not send you into a three month long block. BOYS ARE BAD! Apparently. Anyway, thanks for reading, friends :)
