One day Marinette randomly asked Alya "do you know why Juleka is mad at me?" Nino and Adrien took notice, and turned to join the conversation.
"Is Juleka mad at you?" Adrien frowned, turning of his phone. The four of them all turned to see the shy girl in a mostly one-sided conversation with Rose.
Alya rolled her eyes, crossing her arms and leaning back in her seat. "Give me one valid reason to believe the Juleka is mad at you."
"Well," Marinette prompted, creasing her eyebrows. "She doesn't say a word around me anymore. She used to not speak a lot, then she started mumbling, then she just started not talking at all!"
Alya and Adrien both frowned, but Nino burst out laughing. "Dude, you know the girl is always quiet! Just give it some time!"
"Yeah, but she's always glaring at me," Marinette pouted, making all three of her friends burst out laughing.
"Girl, why don't you just go talk to her!" Alya stretches out her last three words and widend her eyes as if to emphasize that Marinette couldn't have possibly thought of that herself.
Marinette was mildly offended. "Maybe I will!" She said, standing up to prove her point. She couldn't back out now. So she hiked up her elbows to be almost level with her shoulders, and started to march over to Juleka and Rose's bench.
"I think you have a visitor!" Rose giggled, pointing behind Juleka. She turned around, dropping the light smile she had been wearing. "Mhh?"
Marinette paused. She had no clue what she was going to say now that she was here. "I-uhh... you-er-why... who-are you mad at me?"
Juleka sucked in a deep breath. "Yes Marinette, I'm mad at you." For once, her voice came out clear and confident, and thoose in the class who hadn't turned to look when Marinette had stood up now haunted heir conversations.
"Why?!" Alya demanded, not giving Marinette room to speak.
"Because." Juleka said flatly: "she leads my brother on even though she obviously doesn't like him."
The entire class turned to Marinette.
"Your brother?" The bluenette stumbled, obviously think hard. "You have a... OH! You mean Luka!" Both Alya and Juleka facepalmed. "I'm sorry Juleka,
it's just your brother is really sweet and I think he's a really good friend but I love somebody else and..."
Juleka's face betrayed no emotion, and her tone remained monotoned. "Marinette, I know you only think of him as a friend. But Luka is obsessed with the thought that you might like him. You need to tell him that you don't, becuase it's causing him problems."
Marinette's eyes widened. She never wanted to make anybody upset, she just felt like she needed somebody who was indifferent to her liking Adrien as support! But Luka had taken her visits the wrong way as it seems.
"I'll talk to him," Marinette finally got out, giving Juleka a smile. For the first time in a while, Juleka returned it.
"Good. Well then, I guess I'm not mad after all!"
