The Sweet Hereafter

"Eli." She looks into your eyes and you can't help but think how she is everything you ever wanted. But yet you still have that sickly feeling in your stomach from before. She reaches over with those soft, pale arms getting ready to take your everything away. But you just stand there. Say something. Say anything. Choke isn't the right word, but it's the first word that comes to mind. But you know this moment won't last forever, so you don't say anything. For now.

Her beautiful laugh rings through your empty head as you get high off the sound. And you try to hold onto the feeling, because you know you've been moping around lately and the thought depresses you even more. She leans in to kiss you, and you know where this is going, yet you make no effort to stop she's a pretty girl, and she's biting her lip. And you can't remember it ever being so hard to say no.

You've been waiting for this moment for so long. Do something. Do anything. But yet you just lay there as her black figure moves gracefully in the darkness. You put out your arm, trying to reach out. Trying to touch her. "I'm not going anywhere Eli." She whispers against your bare skin as bumps rise up on your torso from her cool breath. And you smile because it's just that easy. Her body is light and featherlike and you give into her soft touches. You both lay there in the darkness while you hold onto her because you know that this will all be over tomorrow. So you try to enjoy it while you can. The heat from her body radiates over yours and you close your eyes to savor the moment.

And before you can even blink your eyes she's out the door going somewhere where you can't follow. And you start to think that maybe, just maybe you were wrong about everything. And you cling to the warm bed sheets that smell just like her because they are the closest thing you have to her. But you don't even know, it sounded better in your head.

You open your eyes to the same dark room, but without the angelic girl. "Not again" you whisper as you close your eyes hoping for a peaceful slumber. Close your eyes as the darkness swallows you. Drown in your own self-pity. Because you're Eli Goldsworthy and no matter how much you want a happy ending, you'll never get one. Wake me up when it's over.

Hey Guys! Just a little oneshot that I put together. Can anyone else not wait for the new season? Please read and review and tell me what you think.
