I Went After Her

Declaimer: I do not own Star Trek.
I was listening to "Don't Forget" and this story came to mind, enjoy.
I teleported down to Vulcanwith one thing on my mind, mother.
The planet was being destroyed all around me as I ran to the Kartric Ark, where the Vulcan High Council should be, but I was not there for them, even though thats what I told Kirk, I was there for my mother.
What I was doing was not Vulcan, I knew that, but she was not Vulcan either. She was a human, the only person to show me kindness, the only one able to show me kindness, she was my mother.
She did not look at me like a freak, a mutant. She did not bully me; she was not ashamed of me. I was not different to her I was her son.
I ran into the small opening in the mountain dodging rock that fell from the top. I made my way through the shaky passage that lead to the Kartric Ark. Upon entry I saw the Vulcan High Council circled around the Vulcan god.
I ran to them putting my hand over my head to cover it from falling rocks.
My mother stood at my arrival, "Spock!" she shouted happily.
"The planet has only seconds left," I told the Council, "we must evacuate."
"Mother now," I told her and she grabbed my hand as everyone evacuated.
I looked back to see one of the Council members to the right be crushed and sped up.
I pulled my mother into the shaky tunnel and ran holding her close while my father followed close be hide.
Another Council member was crushed by the inclosing cave.
As I reach the end the passage a huge rock fell and landed, smashing into the cliffs side.
I slowed myself down and flipped out my communicator.
"Spock to Enterprise, get us out, now!" I yelled into the small black communicator.
"Locking volume," the Russian Ensign instantly replied and my mother let my arm go to look at the destroyed planet that has been her home for years, "don't move, stay right where you are."
The tingly feeling and white light came upon me and the Council as the ground started to cave through around the mountain.
"Transport in five, four, three, two…," the Ensign counted as my mother turned to me with a face of terror and I saw the ground under her feet starting to crumble.
'No… well make it,' I assured myself gripping the communicator tighter.
Then the ground broke from under her. She screamed and I reached for her, but was not fast enough.
"I am losing her!" Chekov screamed to me in panic and the sound of fast key strokes were heard through the little black box I was crushing in my hand.
'No not my mother,' I told myself then did the most human thing I have ever done I let go of my now crushed communicator and jumped after her.
"Spock!" my father yelled hand reached out and stroking the back of my shirt.
"No I lost both of them!" the Ensign voice ringed full of panic and sorrow.
"Mother!" I screamed flying strait down after her.
"Spock!" she cried and reaching for her I pulled her into my arms.
'It was not Vulcan, my father probably disapproved of my lasted action, it went against everything I tried to be, I knew that, but she was not allowed to die alone and scared, not when I was there.'
My mother asked in whispered silent sobs why I made myself parish with her, why I wasted what future I could have had for her.
But I just hugged her and whispered sweet Earth songs she sang to me as a child, till we were sucked into blackness.
The Vulcan Council were beamed a board the Enterprise and taken to sickbay, Sarek was strait faced and walked away stiff, still in shock but hiding it.
While Kirk and Sulu stood stunned behind the teleportation controls, Chekov let a silent tears flow down his cheeks.
The ship left the dying planet.
Kirk flew through the elevator doors followed by Sulu and Chekov who slowly took their seats, Kirk looked over to see a teary eyed Uhura.
"Is he really gone," she whispered.
Kirk looked down before answering, "Yes."
"Now what," McCoy asked stand next to the captain's chair.
"Were going after Nero," Kirk said in a deep serious tone walking to the captain's chair and sitting down.
Review, and I kind of want to do a story on this, tell me what you think.
