"It's raining outside."
Dazai leaned against a cold stone, his head resting gently near the top. "It's raining, Odasaku. Wouldn't that be perfect? The ocean would be turbulent right now….."
He stared ahead, and despite the rain, there was a calm melancholy surrounding the area.
"Chuya was livid today. I saw him for the first time in years. That hatrack is still short. You remember him, right Odasaku?"
With no response, Dazai continued on. "Akutagawa-Kun wasn't too happy either. But I planned on that, of course. Now things are going to fall right into place."
Once again, there was only silence, so Dazai spoke softly, "I still remember the times at Lupin's. I still have that photo. Ango gave me a copy. Don't worry, I won't lose it. It's in my apartment. Right next to the window. I know I don't live near the sea, but it's the best I could do."
A moment passed, and Dazai sighed. "I'm still here, Odasaku. I'm doing what you told me too. The Agency is full of good people. I don't fit in at all, not even one bit. You'd be a better match, they would adore you. Atsushi-Kun especially. You would like him, I just know it."
With that, Dazai stood, and looked down at the small, cold stone. The rain was beginning to let up, and he could read the words "Oda Sakunosuke" written on it. He placed a single flower, then stepped back.
"Wait for me, Odasaku. I'll be there someday, I promise. Just wait for me."
