Chapter 1
Ezra Fitz and Mike Montgomery shoot two walkers that are in the safe house the group saw. Alex walked in after them and headed upstairs. She and Ezra opened the same door and almost shot each other. They grinn and declare it safe for now. Alex finds a owl in a bedroom and shoots it. Ezra groans in disgust. "We have dinner! Alex declared. "Do not put that in my bag! Ezra told her. He gave Mike an all clear and Mike opened the door. Ezra's kids Alice, Isabel and E.J walked in first carrying the little food the group had. Ezra's wife Aria walked in next carry everything their kids decided was worth keeping. Spencer and Toby walk in next avoiding Ezra's gaze. Emily, Paige, and Maya carry a passed out Shauna into the house. Hanna spared Ezra a smile as she holds her stomache holding her unborn child. Caleb walked in after her. Miranda walked in after them, her huge stomach was only partly hidden by the shirt Miranda had on. Olivia and her brother Luke walked right past her. Remy walked in with their sleeping bags. Jenna and Jason next and lastly Mona. E.J finds no food except dog food and he grabs it. However, Caleb finds it and gives it to Ezra who throws it in anger. Alex says" We've got trouble" Ezra looks outside and curses under his breath. A herd of walkers is heading toward the house. The group grabs their things and run.
Afterward the group regroups at a highway. Emily grabs Ezra behind and said" Miranda told me she can't take anymore running around anymore." Ezra fells guilty. He says" Tell her I'll think of something" Alex tells the group they have no more food supplies as Miranda is getting cravings and ate it all. Ezra hides his anger very good. Paige walks with Emily trying to hide a piece of candy from Mrianda. Ezra motions for E.J. He runs toward Ezra and Ezra leans down to him snd says" Listen, Your sisters aren't exactly good with guns so if you can please teach them how to hold a gun okay? E.J nods and asks" What about shooting a gun? Ezra grins and says" We'll cross that bridge when we get to it" E.J heads to his sisters and shows them his gun and puts it in Isabel's hand. She widens her eyes and drops it. Alice catches it before it falls. She feels the weight and pretends to shoot it. E.J and her laugh. Isabel stomps her foot and walks off. Alex runs up to Ezra and tells him" You know, that owl didn't exactly hit the spot" Ezra rolls his eyes and says"We should hunt then?" Alex smirks and says" Yep" Ezra looks at Aria, E.J, Isabel, and Alice. Aria is talking to Mona. E.J and Alice are taking turns pretending to shoot with different guns. Isabel is standing with Shauna trying to get her to talk. Ezra nods his head. The two run off but Maya notices them. Holding her crossbow, Alex notices something and says"Thats a darn shame" Ezra looks where she's pointing and smiles.
What is Ezra smiling at? Why did Isabel run from E.J and Alice like that? And why did she drop the gun? All will be revealed in the next chapter.
