AN: This is a little short about Scar's reaction to the death of his brother. Also, I do not dislike Zira, she just fit into this role. I might do one where she is the protagonist. Also, please review! I want to know how I am doing!
Guilt of a Brother
In the den of Priderock, Scar and Zira are having a heated argument about the death of King Mufasa.
"Zira, what have I done?" Scar said to his wife, crying.
"You have made yourself king!" She said proudly.
"But I've killed my brother." He said to her, looking into her red eyes. Zira saw his pain. "Well, you will have to just forget about him, he is history!" She yelled. Scar went from feeling pain to anger. He was king! No one could tell him what to do, even if it was his wife! He could feel pain for killing his brother could he not?
"I AM KING!" He yelled to Zira. "I can feel pain for the death of my brother! You didn't have him as a brother! When my mother died, and my father started to abuse me," He shouted, pointing to the scar that his father had given him, "Mufasa helped me! He was at my side! He fought back! It was only after he became king did I start to hate him!" He broke down, sobbing, mourning the death of his brother.
"And I have lost family too!" Zira yelled. "When I ran away, I gave up everything! My siblings, my parents, my home, and all my friends!"
"But you didn't kill them." Scar then turned his back to Zira and ran out the den. He ran to the gorge. This was the place he used to run to as a child when his father was about to hurt him. It was a place of safety for him. He got to it and looked down. There he saw his brother's body. It had only been a day since the death and Scar had given special orders for no one to touch the body. He walked down, tears streaming down his cheeks. He walked up to the body, laid beside it, and put is head in his brother's mane. "What have I done to this place?" He asked himself. "I have desecrated the place I could come to safely with the death of my own brother. Now I feel guilt when I come in here." He got up and left. He swore to himself that he would never come to the gorge ever again. When he came back to Priderock, he gave the orders to bury Mufasa. He also swore that he would try and block out Mufasa from everything, at Zira's request.
