This is based some time around Part 1- Alternate happening around the showdown in the hospital when Gaara tries to kill Rock Lee

Naruto

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" Gaara shrieked to himself.

Life. So terrible!

Gaara was one mixed up kid.

"Shut up for Hokage's sake!" Naruto shouted at him.

Gaara held his face in emotional pain. His life flashed before his eyes; this was a common occurrence.

"Chill out kid!" Shikamaru scolded Naruto; he turned to Gaara "I'm warning you Gaara, you need to leave now!"

Gaara grinned at him, calling Shikamaru's bluff.

"We've studied you're moves and we know how to handle you! And anyway it's two against one so you don't have a chance," Shikamaru continued.

Naruto roared and punched Gaara in the face.

Shikamaru held his face in pain "What did I tell you! I've got him under my Shadow Possession Jutsu so every punch you lay on him is a hit on me!"

Gaara's face cracked. He stood still glaring at Naruto and Shikamaru.

Naruto roared again and punched Gaara in the face.

"What is wrong with you!?" Shikamaru growled at Naruto "I told you, I've got him under my Shadow Possession Jutsu so every punch you lay on him is a hit on me!"

Naruto roared and punched Gaara again, sending him flying into the wall.

"Are you listening to me?!" Shikamaru shrieked at him.

Naruto roared and kicked Gaara in the face. Blood trickled from Shikamaru's nose.

"Oh man, what a drag!" Shikamaru muttered to himself.

He looked at Gaara. He wasn't going to fight back anytime soon… another flashback of his life was in motion.

Gaara grabbed his face "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!"

Shikamaru quickly released Gaara from his grip and turned on Naruto.

He was able to deal with Naruto quite quickly simply because he wasn't expecting it. Shikamaru ended the beating with a sharp kick to the chest. Naruto then went flying out of the window.

Shikamaru wiped his nose on his sleeve. The bleeding wasn't that bad.

He quickly possessed Gaara again. The Sand Ninja stood up in exact unison to Shikamaru's movements.

"Now as I was saying Gaara," Shikamaru smiled "I'm giving you the opportunity to leave,"

Gaara smirked at him.

Suddenly there was extreme pain in Shikamaru's chest. He looked up at Gaara. Might Guy standing in front of the boy.

"What are you doing?" Shikamaru wheezed at the Sensei.

Might Guy gave a thumbs up to Shikamaru "Don't worry; I'll deal with this little whelp!"

"No wait-"

A whack to the jaw. Uppercut. Stomach blow.

"Listen to-"

Swipe of the heels. Kick to the chest.

Shikamaru lay on the floor in pain.

With little Chakra remaining, Shikamaru let go of the Shadow Possession.

Might Guy picked Gaara up by the collar and walked over to Shikamaru.

"What's wrong with you?" Might Guy asked.

Shikamaru opened his mouth to speak.

"Well see you later," Might Guy smiled and walked off.

Shikamaru shook his head "Oh man, what a drag,"
