On the phone

"Edward," Alice said on the phone, "Why do you always seem to know what I say when I call you on this phone?"

"Lucky guess maybe?"

"It happened nearly all the time! You must have a better explanation."

"But I don't know how! Seriously!"

"You must know."

"Fine. I do know. But I'm not telling you."

"Not even if I bribe you?"

"No."

"Or if I threaten you?"

"I could easily threaten you back."

"How about...if I torture Bella?"

"You would not!"

"Yes I would."

"She is never leaving my sight. The minute I see you..."

"I was joking! Whoa you'd go a long way to protect Bella."

"I know. It's the only way I know she's safe."

"Back on topic. I had a vision of you with some wires and you were dissembling your phone. What were you doing?"

"Dang it, you saw me."

"What were you doing?"

"Ah...Put special wires in the phone so I can hear peoples thoughts."

"I knew it!"

"No, you didn't."

"Fine, I didn't. Are you happy?"

"Yes."

"Okay, I'm leaving now. Bye."

"Bye."
