A/N: I wrote this in class one day when the teacher asked us to write a short story based on something we love. What could I love more than My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic? This is based off of the song Luna's Lullaby, Celestia's Lament on YouTube by FillyTunes. I wrote this a few years ago and forgot about it. Then I found it in my files this morning and decided to upload it. XD
The stars were shining brightly the night she was born. The full moon glistened and the midnight shadows danced. All of the royal staff and castle members had awaited this night. The night when the new princess arrived.
As the night went on, a young white filly with a cotton candy pink mane quietly trotted into the royal nursery to visit the young new foal. 'Tia leaned over the side of the midnight blue cradle and stared lovingly at her new little sister. Softly, she started to sing a lullaby to the dreaming princess.
"Lalalu, Lalalu
Little sister Lulu…
My moon princess sister… Luna dear
Lalalu, Lalalu
Tiny princess Lulu…
The start has begun for you here"
As she sang these peaceful lyrics, 'Tia recalled to the sleeping baby about all the wonderful things in the night.
"Oh yes, Luna! There is so much to love about night!"
"Daddy has told me about it!"
"There's starlight, moonlight, shadows, owls quiet hooting, the crickets chirping in the vale, the soft nightingale's song… How beautiful the moon shines!"
"It really is lovely…"
"But the day is magnificent too!" 'Tia nuzzled the dark blue filly just as her mother came in.
"Celestia! Let little Luna sleep dear." Spoke Queen Idalia.
"Yes mother…" Celestia silently left to go off to bed.
Not one minute after the young princess's departure, King Badru suddenly swooped onto the balcony. Idalia trotted over to greet her husband.
"Badru! How was the moon rising?" She asked while nuzzling her beloved.
"It was perfect. I summoned every star in the sky!" The King replied.
"How is little Luna?" Asked Badru.
"Oh she's doing wonderful." Idalia smiled at the small blue infant.
"Has 'Tia seen her yet?" Badru asked.
"Yes I have Father." Said a voice from the doorway.
Badru and Idalia whipped their heads around to stare at their daughter who had gotten out of bed.
"Shouldn't you be asleep young lady?" Idalia asked her daughter.
"I wanted to see Luna again, Mother!" She explained. The Queen sighed.
"Alright 'Tia." She answered.
With that, the royal family stared down at their new member. And for then, everything was perfect.
