After Avalanche defeated Sephiroth, everyone go to spend some times on their own. At least, for most of them. Vincent couldn't stop having his personal nightmares, and Tifa starts to feel disappointed of herself that she couldn't be seen in another way by her childhood best friend, Cloud. No matter how hard she tries to get the best chances to be his only one. Cloud really loved Aerith, not her.
Days are passing by, and the routine comes back for Tifa. As always, she maintains her bar without any difficulties. The clients really appreciate her, to spend some good times. But during an evening, a client that seemed not so used to spend his whole life there, do his entrance. Yes, it is Vincent Valentine himself. It was actually a rare time that this particular person dares to come for a drink in bars, in general. Or it was rare to see him alone, not with Yuffie. This evening, he went to visit Tifa apparently. In any case, the visit puts a smile to Tifa's face, for sure.
Vincent came a few minutes before the bar closes, he did it on purpose. He waits for all the clients to go home, to finally enjoys his drink alone with only Tifa as company. He had something in mind, to be honest, a secret he never dared to tell. He is in love with Tifa and tonight, it was the moment to confess his feelings, even if he had no idea how to. So, after a small thought, he decides to get up in front of Tifa.
"Tifa, I must tell you something... and I do not mind if you laugh at it or if you refuse it." She is quite surprised to hear him says that but she is ready to listen to what he has to say without interrupting him at any moment. " I love you, Tifa... I know for a monster like me, the word love doesn't exist... to be honest with you, I may don't know how to love somebody but what I am sure of, is that your presence isn't unpleasant to me." Tifa is definitely shook by his words. Here was standing before her, the great Vincent Valentine, confessing his love to her. For the first time ever, somebody told her the words she's been longing for, for quite a long time. Sure, it wasn't the white knight everybody could dreamed of, but it was definitely somebody honest and loyal.
The silence taking over the moment, Vincent finished his cup of wine, and starts to walk off. Tifa could stop him before it's too late, by grabbing Vincent by his human hand. She looks at him, smiling happier than ever and finally breaks the silence. " No one has told me how they feel about me before but you did. Actually, you are the only one who sees me differently than just a regular friend. I must admit, your words hit me right into my heart as I've realised that I also have feelings for you too but never really had the bravery to convince myself it to be true."
Vincent only wanted to one thing to make it official, the first kiss. He leans near Tifa face, putting his lips on hers for a long and sweet kiss. In Vincent's mind, lots of questions were running through his mind such as will she be able to love a demon like me? will she really be happy?. Tifa sensed there was some confusions in Vincent but her happy smile was enough for him to believe she is happy. It's all that matters, her smile and her loyalty.
"You see? You're not so cursed after all, Vincent. I see you as you see me." she said before they both spend their first romantic night together.
