"Please Tara?" Willow made her best puppy face.

Seated on the floor, leaning against a row of bookshelves in the magic store, Tara looked away from her girlfriend. She had to keep the puppy face away.

"Pretty please with a cherry on top?"

"Willow I told you..." Tara looked at the ground instead of Willow as she talked, "If you see your future...it might not be..."

"You told me yourself that the spell isn't hard. I don't want to know much. Just...tell me what color shirt I'll be wearing exactly 5 years from now or something like that."

"I can't have any say over what I see. I just...see it." Tara couldn't resist though, when she felt Willow's hand under her chin, turning her head.

And she had to look at Willow.

"I could...try. Just for a second," she said softly.

"You're the best! And then you can teach me maybe, and I can tell you what will happen in your future! It'll be great!" Willow said excitedly.

"Just...give me your hand."

Willow moved away from the shelves and turned to face Tara, holding out her hand. She watched as Tara took her hand in both of her own. Tara closed her eyes and Willow could see Tara's lips moving slowly. A few seconds passed.

Tara's eyes opened slowly and she looked into Willow's.

"I...I can't do it. It's not working." Tara stood up, shaken.

"You're probably just tired. You know what, I'll go get you a coffee. If you want to, we can try later." Willow stood up, gave Tara a quick hug, and Tara heard the bells on the shop door close behind Willow as she left.

Tara slid to the ground against the shelves, seeing over and over her vision of Willow's future. A green lawn, a white fence, a beautiful house.

She didn't close her eyes to stop the tear that slipped down her cheek, afraid of seeing the image imprinted on her retinas: An ordinary gray mailbox, with white letters spelling out two perfect words on the side.
