Percy's POV:
Percy's eyes flashed open; the pictures in his head wouldn't go away. Slices of monsters with twenty heads and his friends lying on the ground bleeding to death went back and forth in his head. "That was weird", he thought. "The nightmares were supposed to be gone". He turned his head, and blinked. He suddenly had a horrible headache. Dots in all terrible colors danced and made it too hard see in the darkness, only allowing him to see shadows and some contours of a body. They made him dizzy, and he almost fell asleep again. Then he remembered; he couldn't. The mission. He'd almost forgotten.
The moonlight made the room lighter, now that the dots were gone. And he could make out details of the person lying next to him. The moon made her light yellow hair glow silver and her wedding ring lit up the room in the same way his bronze sword would. "Where the hell was his bronze sword?" the thought just appeared. If he wanted this done, he definitely needed his sword. "One last mission. For old times' sake?"Jason had said to him three nights ago. Why he agreed to get along, he didn't know. But now he was in the middle of it all, and he couldn't get away. "What time was it?" He asked himself. He turned his head and looked at the luminous digits on the clock on the night stand. It showed 2:23 am. 7 minutes until he was supposed to meet the others at the fountain. He had overslept and was about to be late.
Percy got up as fast as he could without awaking Annabeth. He had a big lump in his stomach. The guilt for leaving Annabeth now, in her condition, grew stronger and stronger. He stuffed some clothing and other necessary things in his backpack. He found his sword in a drawer and walked out of the bedroom. In the kitchen, he grabbed some nectar and ambrosia from the crisis drawer and as he ran out of the door one thought took shape in his head: "I hope Annabeth won't get too mad".
The stone path up to the hill felt longer than ever. Every step made a louder noise than the once before. The stars were about to fade from the sky as the sun begun to rise. Percy wished he'd taken a thicker jacket with him. It was so cold, his breath became frosty. As he walked he could see six long shadows, shaped by the moon, move at the hill near by the fountain. "Great", he said to himself. "I am the only one who isn't there yet". When he got closer, they noticed him coming, and started to walk towards him.
On the top of the hill they stopped, looking at each other. Percy had thought he'd never get to see them again. Not after what had happened after the last war. Leo had been long gone looking for Calypso, Frank and Hazel had been too busy planning their wedding, Piper and Jason were made head counselors which kept them busy, Reyna was too caught up in her work and Nico had fled after telling them about his secret. But now everyone stood at the hill smiling at one another. Leo, Frank, Hazel, Piper, Jason, Reyna and Nico. His long lost friends. "Where the hell is Annabeth?" Leo asked, breaking the silence. "Umm, she's not…" Percy didn't know what to say. What was he supposed to tell them? That he hadn't told her? She didn't need to get more things to worry about. "Well, she doesn't know anything", he suddenly said. "What? Why?" Piper stepped forward. "What has happened?" Oh, crap. Now he had to tell them. He opened his mouth; the words barely got formed and said: "She doesn't know, because she's pregnant."
