"Then I'll just end it" states Emilia before turning around and heading for the door.
"Wait! Please, do one last thing for me. Just…kill me" I utter, all emotion draining from my body.
"Why?" asks Emilia narrowing her eyes.
"Because…without you I've lost all reason to live" I answer pathetically, unable to meet Emilia's beautiful eyes.
Wordlessly Emilia continues out of the door and down the hall, the growing weight in my chest causing me to fall back to my bed. Without Emilia, my life is…worthless. One true and final death, no redo's, would be nice right about now. As I begin to succumb to the encroaching darkness, I hear the door to my room slowly creak open. What's left of my hope begin to rise, hoping that Emilia has returned to say she didn't mean any of it. But as my vision fades to black, I am unaware of who has entered my room.
As I awaken some unknown amount of time later, Rem's soft voice speaks, "Emilia is concerned about you. She said you said that she was the only reason for you to live."
As the memories of Emilia getting angry with me come flooding back to me, Rem speaks again, closer to my ear this time, "I'll be here for you."
Ignoring Rem's words of comfort, I remember the words Emilia spoke to me before remembering Rem's statement that Emilia is concerned about me. I remark quietly, not remembering that I am not alone, "Then perhaps I still have a chance."
