"What is she doing? Trying to make us dizzy?" Drakken asked as the cheerleader skate on the ice around the pair in circles.
"Nope, worse!" Shego replied just before the ice they were standing on sank and caused her and Drakken to fall in the cold water. After the shock the blue scientist managed to get out of the water. He was freezing, but he quickly got up, looking around to see the teens had already ran away with their prisioner.
"Blast! They all got away!" he blurted out, his back to the water pool.
"I just hope we won´t catch a cold, right, Sheg—" he stopped, remembering he hadn´t seen his sidekick get out of the water.
He turned to the pool immediately and sighed in relief seeing she was half out of the water and had not drawn or something like that. Her legs were still in underwater but she had her head down, resting on her arms on the cold ice, so he couldn´t really see her face. When he noticed she wasn´t moving his heart stopped. He rushed to her and pulled her completely out of water. He held her in his arms, and seeing her eyes were shut he went to check her pulse when he heard her cough.
"Thank God…" he sighed again in relief as she slowly opened her eyes.
"…g-get…off…" she weakly said as she tried to push him away, but failing miserably as her hand slowly fell due to the lack of strength.
She was trembling slightly and she was paler than normal. She was weak, weaker than he´d ever seen her. Ever. And he had seen her after fierce battles and fights. Something was wrong…
"Shego… what´s wrong with you?" he asked worried.
She tried to reply a "none of your damn business" but she was too weak.
He took of one of his gloves to check if she had a fever, but she was really cold.
"You… you´re freezing!" he exclaimed as she gave him a "Doy!" look.
But he immediately understood and took off his jacket to cover her and embraced her more.
"…I…don´t…need…your…help…idiot…" she managed to hardly spit out.
"Really, Shego?" he laughed a bit, making her blush a little.
She was so weak, so tired… she closed her eyes for a bit…
Drakken used this opportunity to lift her up and carry her to the hover car, because if she was awake and realized she was being "saved" by him she´d probably fry him with her plasma.
He laid her in the backseat and gazed at her for a moment. She looked so calm sleeping, so different without her usual bitterness…
He sat in the driver´s seat and was ready to start the car when she woke up.
"Hey…" she called him, still laying down covered in his jacket, too weak to stand up or sit.
"Want me to take you to a hospital?" he asked her seeing she was feeling better and more conscious.
"No need…" she started "I just had a small breakdown, I… it´s my powers… since I need to concentrate heat to form the plasma, it made my body more sensitive to the cold. I need more heat than normal people, that´s why I´m always taking my vacation at the beach" she laughed a bit "but don´t worry, I´ll be fine"
She paused a bit "So um… thank you, Dr. D"
He couldn´t help but smile as he replied "You´re welcome"
Maybe she wasn´t all that cold-hearted after all…
