Calling all editors, I'm looking for a beta reader for a Nova/Guardian's of the Galaxy story that mixes elements of the Guardians from the movie and the Nova from the Ultimate Spider Man cartoon. I primarily need help with characterization and sentence flow. Below I've included a sample of the story so far. Please review or PM me if you're interested.

Abandoning his feet for flight, he rockets down the hallway, up through the hatch, then alights on the wall that is currently serving as a floor and races towards the sounds of struggle. The doors separating the deck from the rest of the ship have already been blasted open, but to his consternation two raccoons are fighting tooth and nail, the controls momentarily abandoned and forgotten. Two raccoons?
"They're shapeshifters! Would you please get this one off of me!"
Sam snarls and tackles the speaker, pummeling them with all of the strength he can muster without calling up the tell tale blue light that signifies any significant use of the helmet's powers. The other Rocket scrambles for the controls and rights the ship sending a spew of laser fire at the other ship's engines. The Rocket under his fists grins and then grows, stretching taller and broader until a blue skinned Kree look-a-like looms over him instead of the other way around. Sam gulps and darts around the side hoping to find a discarded gun he can use. The Chitari laughs raucously. Sam looks over his shoulder at the pursuit and then screeches to a halt. The enemy isn't pursuing him at all! It's turned back towards Rocket who, who trusts him enough to keep the Chitari busy while he covers his friends. The Chitari that doesn't see him as threat and is about to-
"Rocket!"
Sam forgets about secrets or his need to keep them. All that matters is that someone trusts him and he's about to let them down and then he'll be just like his father and- he thrusts forward at full force, blinded by his anger. The blow takes out the Chitari just as it reaches for Rocket's throat. It also takes out the reinforced polymer separating the inside of the ship from the vast reaches of zero atmosphere on the other side.
