A/N In Holes, when Stanley is in CGL, he writes a letter to his mother so she doesn't worry. In English class, we had to continue that letter sarcastically, load it with lies. I got 100% on this one, as all the other things in English class, so I decided to post it here. R&R please it would be appreciated. The bold letters are the beginning of Stanley's letter, the rest is me!!

Disclaimer: the beginning of the letter belongs to Louis Sachar, not me :S. it would be fun if it was mine though but please don't sue!!!

Dear Mom,

Today was my first day at camp and I've already made some friends. We've been out on the lake all day, so I'm pretty tired. Once I pass the swimming test, I'll learn how to water-ski. I am thrilled. This camp is so much fun and it's so beautiful. I especially love the lake: it shines like an emerald during the day and it's so refreshing. I couldn't wish for better.

There are a lot of activities here at CGL, like water-skiing and swimming, rowing, snorkeling and many more. During free-time, we can dig holes to look for little crabs. I found some, today: they're cute creatures, different shades of orange. It hurts when they pinch, though. They get hold of your finger and just don't let go. The best way to get rid of them is wack them with the shovel. It's a lot of fun and it's funny.

Talking about crabs, we ate some for lunch with a delicious pink sauce. It was ketchup and mayonnaise, I expect, with avocadoes and shrimp. The avocadoes weren't even stringy. We could have as many helpings as we wanted, so I literally licked the plate. The cook was really nice to let me do so.

But that's just…normal. All the camp staff is like that: nice, understanding…they always make sure we have enough water and sunscreen. I wish the teachers in school were like the people here. It would be awesome.

As I said above, I'm made loads of friends. Their names are Theodore, Alan, Ricky, Hector and Rex. I think we're a great team. From now on, I'm pretty sure we'll do everything together.

Now I must stop writing because it is long past my bedtime. I will now switch off the one hundred-watt lights and get into my king-size bed in my five-star hotel room. If it isn't that, it sure is something like it!

I love you, say hello to Dad and Grandpa for me,
