No Cake, No Presents, No Party

Disclaimer: I don't own Stargate SG-1 or any of the characters. If I did, I wouldn't be writing crappy fan fictions and the show would still be airing. Oh, and tiny Samantha O'Neill's would be running around the SGC.

Sighing, Sam closed the door to her quarters behind her and made her way over to the bed, tossing her jacket onto a chair in the process. What a great ending to a crappy birthday. She had just gotten back from a mission where she was nearly killed by multiple jaffas while trying to destroy a Goa'uld mother ship that had been heading toward Earth. To top it all off, when they got back to the SGC they found out that the base was on lockdown because of some disease and everyone were to be confined in their quarters. This disease wasn't dangerous, it just caused light nausea and exhaustion but it was classified as a disease and had to be treated as such.

There had been no cake, no presents, no party, and no friends or family. Except for her team of course, but she didn't really find life threatening situations to be classified as party games. This birthday really sucked. Running her hand through her hair, she looked around the room in annoyance, wondering why this day had to be so unlucky. Her team had tried to make it up for her, singing Happy Birthday to her this morning as they were about to depart and being very kind to her all day. But she was still frustrated.

Lying down on her bed with her hands behind her head, Sam stared at the ceiling for a moment, wondering what to do. Deciding to get a few hours of sleep, she rolled onto her side and was about to close her eyes when something on her nightstand caught her attention. Sitting back up with her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, she studied the small object. It was a kiss. A Hershey's chocolate Kiss. There was a small card on which the candy rested on and Sam reached out and brought it toward her. Opening it, her eyes scanned the words before a soft and sincere smile settled upon her lips. Setting the card gently back down, she fingered the chocolate for a moment before also putting that down. Still smiling, she lay back down and closed her eyes, not feeling quite as miserable as she had a couple of minutes ago. The card still sat on the nightstand, handwritten and signed by three names.

Happy Birthday Sam!

Don't expect a surprise tomorrow morning in the commissary. Of course there won't be lots of people there to celebrate your birthday. That's just a silly thought.

We love you,

Daniel, Jack, and Teal'c

A/N: We all have those birthdays where it feels like everything is going wrong and nothing is happy like its supposed to be. At least Sam's 'family' hasn't forgotten about her. This is just something short that I wrote at 2:00 am because of the lack of sleep XD. Enjoy, and please review!
