Dreams of Beaches
"Number 1" Jackie said.
"I don't know, I say number 3" Nick disagreed.
"Number 3 is nice too but I like number 1 better, but I think either would be nice, as long as they don't pick number 2." Jackie told him.
They were cuddled together watching a show about a couple buying a house. The couple on TV was trying to decide what house to get, it was one of Nick and Jackie's favorite shows and usually they agreed on which house to buy but not during this episode.
The couple on the show chose house number 1, Jackie's favorite, it was Jackie's favorite because it was close to the beach. After the show was over Jackie looked up at Nick and smiled.
"You know, when I was growing up I always said that if I ever moved out of my hometown it would only be if my new house would be by the beach, not that I loved my hometown or anything but I did love the people there." She told him.
"And yet you live in the desert." Nick responded with a laugh.
"I know, thanks for that Nicky." Jackie said jokingly with a smile.
Nick chuckled.
"I love the beach and I grew up in a place that practically has the same climate as the north pole, you couldn't get farther from the ocean if you tried and then when I get married and move I move to the desert, also no where near the beach. Then you get not one but two job offers, one in Chicago that has brutal winters and then one back in my hometown, that again, has terrible weather, can't you get a job offer somewhere nice? Like in I don't know, like San Diego or something?"
Nick laughed.
"I'll try dear, I'll tell the higher ups that my wife refuses to move unless it is to somewhere with beautiful weather." He told her with a smile.
"Thanks, good luck with that by the way." Jackie said with a grin, knowing the higher ups would not give a wit about that request.
"Want to watch another one?" Nick asked as he nodded towards the TV.
"Actually hon, I'm tired, I think I'll hit the hay." She responded.
"Ok, yeah, that sounds like a good idea to me too." He agreed.
As Jackie fell asleep she dreamed about beaches.
The End!
