I Know, Harry

Dear Harry,
I know you are hurting. I know that you couldn't make up your mind two weeks ago whether you wanted to be with us or alone. I know that nothing I say will ever fully take away the pain that you feel, but I also know that there are things I can tell you to help you deal with all the grief you are overcome with.
First off, Harry, try to understand that what happened that day is not your fault. There are too many people who could have changed something for you to take all of the blame: Professors Dumbledore and Snape, Bellatrix Lestrange, Voldemort, the Order, and even me. I know that if you hadn't gone to the Department of Mysteries that Sirius probably would not have died that day and in that way, and I know that you know this, but I beg you to realize that you aren't alone in blaming yourself and you aren't alone in feeling guilty. You are not the only one who could have done something differently!
I know that Professor Dumbledore told you something hard to hear, and I know that you probably can't tell me what that something is. But Harry, I also know that you do not have to handle it alone! I will be with you until the very end--you have my word. I know Ron would make the same promise, and after what we've been through together, I would not be surprised if Ginny, Neville, and Luna were to promise the same thing. And Harry, you must realize that you have Professor Dumbledore, too. No matter what he told you that day. He has been watching over you since our first year, and I know that no one can do that for that long without beginning to love you. So many people have watched and loved, Harry: Lupin, McGonagall, Arthur and Molly Weasley, Moody, and even Tonks. You may not see it, but there is so much love in your life. It surrounds you, and it will never go away.
Please, Harry, think about what I've said. I know that you will be better for it.
Love from,
Hermione
