Hey guys! I've been on Fanfiction for a while but haven't really written anything till now, so for my first story, I decided to write one-shots about my favorite pairing, Percabeth. Please no flames, but constructive criticism is appreciated :) Thanks for reading, and don't be afraid to tell me what you think in the comments section.
Now onto the story!
Percy rubbed his eyes and continued staring bleary eyed at the television. He tried to process what the news reporter was saying but found it hard to keep his eyes open as she droned on monotonously. Yawning, he picked up the remote and began flicking through the channels mindlessly, not really paying attention to the images that flashed across the screen.
All Percy really wanted to do was snuggle in bed with his wife and fall asleep, but ever since she got pregnant, Annabeth had been going on a rampage. Even though she had taken a pregnancy leave for two weeks, Annabeth was always roaming around their two-storied apartment either looking for something she needed for her blueprints or reorganizing or cleaning the place – she just couldn't sit still.
Percy tried to stay up and wait for Annabeth to finish whatever she was doing right then, but slowly his eyelids began to droop, and he began to doze off. However, before he could fully drift off into the world of dreams, he heard a loud, continuous noise coming from the kitchen, like a watering hose going on full blast.
BLAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMM
Groaning a little, Percy slowly got up and stretched before plodding into the kitchen. There he saw his wife glaring ferociously at the white plate in her left hand while blasting it viciously with the faucet's flexible nozzle in her right hand. Percy felt sorry for the poor plate; if Annabeth had been glaring at him like that, he would've been so terrified that he'd have melted into a puddle of goo and filled in the crevices between the tiles on the floor.
Nevertheless, Percy always thought Annabeth looked adorable when she was angry (terrifying – but still adorable) and that time was no exception. She was wearing a faded grey top that stretched over her swollen stomach and grey sweat pants, her curly, frizzy hair framed her face as strands of it had fallen out of her short ponytail, and her eyebrows were scrunched together as her face grew redder and redder with anger.
And she was the most beautiful thing Percy had ever seen.
Percy walked over to where she was standing and wrapped his arms around her while resting his head on her shoulder.
"Stupid stain won't come off!" Annabeth said, clearly frustrated.
Percy squinted at the plate trying to find the aforementioned stain. "I don't see anything."
She scoffed. "Of course you don't. Percy it's right there!"
She moved the nozzle for a second to point at the plate. Percy looked hard and finally spotted a tiny speck of orange. It's practically unnoticeable, he thought to himself, but before he could tell Annabeth, she had narrowed her eyes and increased the water's power to the max, creating a deafening sound as the water beat against the plate. Shocked for a moment by the loudness, he pulled his head back from her shoulder to keep from going deaf. He was surprised the plate hadn't broken yet and that no neighbor had come pounding on their door.
"Annabeth! Turn it down!" he yelled, trying to speak over the ear-splitting noise, but whether she intended to ignore him or just couldn't hear him over the sound, she kept at it.
"Annabeth!" he yelled again, and this time he saw her glance at him briefly before going back to her spraying. So she did hear me the first time.
Deciding to take matters into his own hands, Percy reached out in front of her and grabbed the plate ("Hey!" she said) and then turned off the faucet. Annabeth whipped around her face even redder than before.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" she asked, infuriated.
Percy meant to respond, he really did, but Annabeth just looked so pretty. So, he did the only rational thing – he kissed her.
For a moment, Annabeth just stood there in shock, but then she wrapped her arms around Percy's neck and kissed him back, hard. Percy put the plate on the kitchen counter and gently placed his hands on Annabeth's waist, pulling her closer.
They finally broke apart, their foreheads still touching and both of them breathing heavily with ridiculous grins on their faces.
"Gotta love those pregnancy hormones," Percy teased, his eyes sparkling with humor.
"Shut up," Annabeth replied, pulling away a little and slapping his arm lightly. She looked down for a second and her cheeks tinged with color, but her smile grew wider.
Percy slowly released her from his embrace but gently grasped both of her hands.
"Now can we please go to bed?" he asked, pouting slightly. Annabeth laughed.
"Okay, Seaweed Brain. Let's go," she replied, and the two of them disappeared upstairs, Percy sliding one of his arms around her shoulders as they walked.
Woot, woot! First one-shot done! Don't forget to comment and follow/favorite. Hopefully there's more to come :)
