Title: Coming to Be
Comic: Archie Sonic the Hedgehog
Pairing: SonSal
Written After: Issue #1
Despite the recent Robotnik attack with the Krudzu, Sally Acorn fearlessly walked through the forest, hoping to make it to a place that was still filled with nature and beauty. She took her time, smiling as she made her way through the dimly lit place. As she started to see sunlight, her surroundings became more and more beautiful. It was perfect. There was soft grass, free of stickers. Beautiful flowers, free of bugs or any trace of technology. She walked into the ankles deep grass and sat down on the ground. She flopped onto her back, sighing as she let the warm sun hit her body. She relaxed, happy to be in such a sweet smelling and peaceful place.
Then, the peace was interrupted with the sound of a faint sonic boom. She wrinkled her nose when she thought she had heard the sound, but ignored it, picking a yellow flower and sniffing it.
"Hiya, Sal!" Sonic said. She sat up and yelped. The sudden peace-disruption was quite startling. Plus, she hadn't even brought anyone else here with her before. Sonic wasn't an exception to this rule, either. How could she find a way to send him away?
"S-Sonic!" Sally stuttered, panicking. 'What am I gonna do?' she thought. He tapped his foot, smiling at her.
"What's up? You're acting like you're up to no good. We've all noticed you going missing for a long time now, and I decided to follow you today and see what you were doing." He said.
"Oh! Well…"
"Are you up to no good?" he asked, half joking and half serious.
"…No, Sonic, I'm not. Are you accusing me that I am?" she said, giving him an amused yet irritated look. He sweat dropped, realizing that he had been put on the spot like that.
"Of course not! Don't turn the question back on me like that!" she smiled, pleased with herself that she was now off the hook. He was cute when he panicked like that in little, insignificant situations like this.
"Do you want to be up to no good?" she stood up and started walking closer to him until her was backed up against a tree.
"U-um… maybe… I mean, no! …I mean…" he blushed and tried to avoid her gaze. He had liked her for some time right now. He had never stood close to her so closely in a place like this, completely alone.
"Uh huh. I see…" she leaned closer to his face, having fun making him blush. He looked at her blue eyes with his dark brown ones, and neither the squirrel nor the hedgehog found that they could look away. 'Oh dear… I can't look away!' Sally realized. They were now nose-to-nose, eye-to-eye. Her slender arms somehow found their way around his neck, and their lips met in a soft, tender kiss. He wrapped his arms around her carefully as if her were afraid of breaking her. He had no idea that she liked him back. So many emotions passed through his mind all at once. He was so happy that he didn't know what to do. They pulled away from each other, blushing pink. "Um… I…" she said, not sure what to say after having done that. He was her first kiss, and she didn't know that it was going to happen at this time. She had liked him for a long time, now. Did he like her too?
"Can staying here with you be called a first date?" he asked, going with his gut. She kissed him, right? So she wouldn't turn him down… she blushed more, and smiled.
"Sure!" she said, hugging him tightly. Then, after realizing how weird it was, she pulled away quickly, letting go and stepping back a space. He then stepped forward and hugged her.
"It's alright. I liked it." He said. Then, the happy couple walked into the light, and laid down together, basking in the glow of happiness all around them.
