Pheonix: hmmm… Should be doing schoolwork now. Oh screw, just read. Kinda sucks... But whatever.

Halloween Special: What will Neji ACTUALLY wear?

Neji was still glaring. Gai was still grinning, the mirrors still burning the rug under the intense reflection from the sensei's teeth.

Tenten still found it incredibly… Bothering.

Lee was wearing a dark brown wig, and also what looked to be an imitation of Neji's usual outfit.

"Get out of it." Neji's calm voice had an unnamable hint in it to anyone but Tenten, who knew him enough to recognize it as annoyance. Tenten's own costume was much more simple, a dark gothic dress that reached past her ankles to cover her feet elegantly (which were strapped to extremely uncomfortable heels, her mother had said the grimace would make her more believable) and her hair was down. Tenten hadn't brushed it after her shower, just to make it separate and be easier to manage while looking a bit witchy, she supposed.

"No, my youthful partner, there are some things to be sacrificed on the day of demons and ghosts!" Lee replied, smiling jovially as he clutched his candy bag, an orange and black striped hideous thing in his hands. Neji's gaze became almost sinister, nothing changing by way of lips or anything, just the tone of his light colored eyes in the dimming light.

"Tenten, have they outlawed human sacrifices yet?" Neji asked, turning to her with every bit of seriousness a serial killer would possess. Tenten grinned, recognizing the joke for what it really was and not a threat, though Lee was barely escaping this latest escapade.

Gai was wearing a ridiculously colored afro, purple pink and green the main crayonic attractions, overly large shoes and a ton of misplaced face paint. His outfit was… Well… Predictable given the current explanation. Neji was Neji.

"So, Neji, we still have half an hour before we start making the rounds, what are you going to be?" Tenten was curious, she had to admit, but something in his face as he looked at her made her expression fall a notch.

"I wasn't planning on going." The Hyuuga replied, and watched as Tenten crossed her shoulders in front of her chest.

"Come on, Neji, just pick something scary to wear. Anything."

"Hn."

"What about a sheet?"

Neji didn't even bother to reply, the arcing of his brow sufficing as a no.

Tenten growled with frustration as they sat in her apartment's living room, all situated on the couch. Suddenly, the little light bulb appeared in her mind's eye, and she smirked.

"I know! Neji, go as yourself. Just walk out the door and go." Tenten said, looking at him quite seriously.

He turned to her, intrigued, and she nodded sagely.

"Really! I mean, if Lee's dressed up as you, certainly they might expect more people to be dressed like you. And we all know that a lot of people know who you are and admire you, so some of the littler kids are probably already going as you. You can just walk out!"

It makes sense…Neji thought, still looking at her incredulously. Finally, he shrugged, giving a small snort of dignity as Tenten did a little cheer.

The rest of the night went smoothly for Neji, who collected candy only because Tenten practically threw him at every doorstep, and in the end dumping it into her bag and discarding his empty bag when she wasn't looking. It's not like he liked sweet stuff like that much anyway.

But Lee didn't fare so well. After half the night as Neji, he shed the costume and decided to try to beat Neji at this game.

"Who are you supposed to be, young man? Oh, I love those big eyebrows! What store did you buy them at?"

That hadn't gone over too well with the youngest green beast of the hidden leaf…

Pheonix: I have another Halloween special planned, but it will have to wait a long time, probably till next year since it's supposed to be a three part and I have homework now. I hope you enjoyed my pointless drabble!
