Jack made his way over the sandy beach toward Kate, reaching out he gently touched her arm. "Kate, why won't you come with me to the caves? It's safer there, and we're even starting to build small homes outside of the caves. They're not much, but it's enough to hold out some of the wind and rain." Jack's voice was gentle, his eyes tender as he studied Kate's face. Kate slowly lifted her eyes to his, speaking softly she said, "Jack, I can't. I have to be here when we're rescued." "Kate! They're isn't going to be a ship come to rescue us, let go of that false hope and come with me. Atleast think about coming?" Kate nodded her head slowly before dropping her gaze to the sand mingling between her toes. "I'll be coming back again tomarrow, see if you can get anything useful from Sawyer?" Jack leaned forward and gently kissed Kate's cheek before turning and walking away through the brush, leaving Kate to think about all he had said.

Charlie smiled over at Claire, had her stomach grown larger since their arrival on the island? "Claire, how's the baby?" Charlie asked, his english accent evident in every word he spoke. He chuckled softly as he watched Claire gently rub her stomach, her eyes seemed so tender and loving. "Ah, he's doing fine. He was rolling around an awful lot this morning, wouldn't let me get a wink of sleep." Every word Claire said dripped with a rich australian accent. She shut her eyes and leaned back against the cool rock behind her. "Charlie, do you think you could get me some more of that sweet, spring water?" She asked, if she couldn't get her hands on any peanut butter, or sugar, she would have to settle for the cold spring water which tasted sweet as sugar itself. "Sure could. Be back in a flash." Charlie winked at her before standing up and bounding off to get a few bottles of water for Claire.

"Boone? I'm cold.." Shannon's sweet voice drifted across the space between brother and sister. The young man slowly stood up, running a hand through his shaggy hair before he took off his jacket and placed it around his sister's shoulders. "That better?" He asked, kissing the top of her head gently. Shannon nodded, her hand reaching for her brother's and squeezing it gently. "Thanks." Boone nodded, seating himself next to her before looking over to study his sister's face. "You feelin' okay? You look kind of pale, how 'bout you go lay down for a bit?" Shannon giggled softly, her blue eyes sparkling as she looked over at her brother. "I'm fine, why are you always so worried about me?" "Because, you're my sister and I gotta take care of you." He winked at her. "I'm hungry, how 'bout you?" "Yeah, a bit." "I'll go find us somethin' to eat, maybe Locke killed somethin' while he was huntin' earlier." Boone stood slowly, rubbing the back of his neck and looking down at his sister. "You okay if I leave you alone for a bit?" He asked, obviously he was worried about her, he had been ever since her asthma attack a few weeks ago. "I'm fine, but maybe I'll go with you and stretch my legs." She reached up and took hold of his hand, he helped her up and then the two of them began their short trek to find Locke.
