Reborn opened his eyes in a sudden rush of adrenaline.

He looked left, then right, only able to turn his stiff neck slightly. He looked to the ground; it was mostly dark in the room with the exception of a small break of light that came from a cracked window. He deduced that it must have been barely dawn, and left the thought at that.

Something was strange about the moment at hand. His head hurt severely, yet he failed at remembering why. Reborn began breathing heavily, quickly finding that his chest was restrained. He observed himself, noticing for the first time that he had been tied tightly to a wooden chair. He barely felt shocked by this- more alarming was the blood that seeped through his white dress shirt and Burberry fitted suit.

What the hell had happened? He was not one that would be easily down for the count. The blood was understandable for an attack, but being bound to the chair was somewhat of an exaggeration. He must have pissed someone off really badly.

Several minutes had gone by from the moment he had awoken. Reborn was quickly becoming tired of this and silently demanded to know the meaning of such heinous actions. He began to dose, his aching head causing slight vertigo. As his eyes fell shut, he heard a slight creak of an opening door. He swung his head left, ready to acknowledge his attacker. In the doorway stood the silhouette of a thin, messy haired man armed with a large butcher knife. Reborn attempted to focus the vision ahead of him.

"Sk- Skull? Oh… SHIT!"

Skull strode into the room slowly swing the knife up to his face and biting the cold metal.

"Skull? Damn it I'm sorry! It wasn't my choice, I-"

"You broke my heart, Reborn." Skull stood in front of Reborn, glaring blankly with purple make-up streaming down his pale face. His eyes were glossy and hazy, as if he had spent days crying. He seemed thinner than usual; his now loosely fitting suit doused in thick, rouge colored blood.

Skull pulled the knife from between his teeth an placed it on Reborn's collar.

"How could you do this to me?" He spoke softly as he dragged the blunt end of the knife slowly up Reborn's neck, easily brushing past his Adam's Apple. "You promised you wouldn't do this to me. You fucking promised."

"Skull, I told you, it wasn't my fault. I-I wouldn't have done that. She told me it would have been best…"

"Reborn, my heart is made of glass, and so is my humanity. I hope you know I have no qualms in killing you."

Reborn chuckled.

"I guess that's what drew me so close."

Skull stared at Reborn incredulously. His glazed features quickly changed to focused distraught.

He dragged the knife slowly across Reborn's neck.

A/N: Alrightly, first KHR fanfic. Sadistic Skull=love for me. I don't know why but the idea of a psychopathic Skull makes me a happy girl. Anyway, this is just the prologue for a "hopefully" long fic about- well- LOVE. If the title didn't spoil it already. So give it a try, I'm sure you'll like it.
