I had actually finished playing Okami (which is EFFING AMAZING) yesterday, but I couldn't stop crying to the theme song of the Celestials. Their fate was so sad, and add on to how attached I had become to Issun and now I couldn't hear his funky music whenever he speaks because he was left behind.

I ended up stringing words together and couldn't stop singing them. So here we are.

So yeah, if you were to play the Theme Song of the Celestials, the tune of the song should be the rhythm of this poem.

Summary: The long journey of Okami Amateresu summarized. (Pitiful summary, ne?)

Warnings: Spoilers… that's it.

The Moon Tribe built the Arc of Yamato to send the monsters away.

Unknowingly, the Celestials boarded it; it sealed their horrible fate.

Only two survived the ordeal and seeked out the end to Orochi and his crew.

They waited patiently for 100 years for the Chosen One.

oOo

One of the two, a great goddess, and Nagi fought valiantly against Orochi.

Unfortunately, victory was not without a price. The goddess succumbed to her fatal wounds...

oOo

100 years later, the goddess was reborn and Orochi awakened once more.

During her long journey, she faced sacrifices and ended in painful separation.

In her darkest moments against Yami, her partner, Issun, inspired the faith of people.

She was able to fight again and victory was hers.

oOo

Oh, great sun goddess, Amateresu.

Shine your gentle light on the land of Nippon.

Right the wrong committed so long ago.

Let you be the guiding light to peace.

oOo

But the story is far from over.

There is still so much to tell…

Seriously, I was feeling majorly mind-fcked after I finished playing the game. I already knew what was going to happen because I watched a walkthrough but… the ending battle just put my emotions in overdrive…

The ending stanza refers to the sequel, Okamiden, which I actually got a year and a half BEFORE I got Okami. I was so confused, running around like "What the hell is a Issun?". xD

Thank you for reading this. I don't do poetry often, but… I like this one. :)

PS: High five if you played it and felt the same! O_O
