He stopped by Stanley's on the way out and found her there bringing something to Bonnie. He hadn't expected see her before he went to Jonah's and found he was glad to be able to see her before he headed out.

"Hey," he said as she came up to him.

"Hey, back," she answered, "I hear your headed out of town on some important deal…getting us food and medicine."

"Hopefully."

"I guess rescuing the children, saving us all from radiation poisoning and fighting fires wasn't enough to cement you're role as town hero. You have to go on man missions now."

"Trust me," he told her; lowering his voice, "I am no town hero.'

"Well, say what you will, but you've saved me a few times now and that pretty much puts you in the hero category."

He smiled crookedly, "If you say so." They stood awkwardly for a moment until he cleared his throat and spoke again, "Well I should get going. Got that important deal and all."

"Right."

He started to turn toward the door when suddenly she was kissing him. He was startled at first, but quickly responded, his hand reaching out to hold her to him as he pressed closer, kissed her harder.

They both pulled back quickly, neither wanting to get too out of control.

They stared at each other, her arms still around his neck, his hands still clutching her waist, until Heather broke the silence, "Just come back in one piece okay?"

He nodded, still a little startled by the whole exchange, and then smiled, "I will. I promise."
