She lives entwined in reveries

Encased, enclosed, withdrawn within,

And sweet are phantom memories

Of life untouched by earthly din.

Upon the edges of her eyes

The weary world breaks sightlessly,

And when sharp time wrings from her sighs,

She tacks the winds of vision's sea.

Set once upon this mindful main

Far from the stunted shores of earth,

Lovely Luna will never chain

Again her soul to hollow dearth.

Far distant isles come into view

Now upon this course she's taken,

And should some offer pleasures few

Still scores may dreams awaken.

This kithless sea on which she's shipped

Is wholly in her heart retained,

And for the venture she has stripped

Those common sights by all proclaimed.
