HAHA! MY NEW OTP!!!! –cheers- Yeah, anyway! The prompt was "in another world," and I figured it was the perfect excuse to write about my pet crack pairing. The italicized sections are what happened in a past life, the other part takes place in cannon Naruto time.

Lady Hinata of the Hyuuga family stared into the dark eyes of her companion. "W-what do you mean?" the noble stuttered.
"I'm telling you it's not safe!" Kisame whispered harshly.
Once upon a time, Hinata had not trusted the merman. Her first impression had been that he was shady and dishonest. Since then he had done many things to reaffirm this belief. Now, however, she could pick up on the honesty of his words.
"Wh-why? W-what's happening?" Hinata needed to know what she was running from before she would run.
"Tonight is the night before the revolution," the merman explained desperately. At some point his hands had taken grip of her shoulders.
"R-revolution?"
"This town will be in flames by noon." Kisame wasn't quite sure why he was telling her this. He needed to start doing his job properly, but somehow he always got distracted by this small mouse of a woman.
Hyuuga Hinata stared into the dark eyes of her opponent. Beside her laid the broken and bloody body of her cousin Neji.
Hoshigaki Kisame smirked in sadistic amusement as the small mouse of a woman sprang toward him.
When the two collided they both felt a certain melancholy that perhaps if it were another place, another time- another world- they could have had something more than a battle to the death.
When Kisame was finally struck down, a pain like a pin through her heart struck Hinata. She cried for a reason she could not understand.
Lady Hinata wept over Kisame's charred body. He had tried to save her, but sadly, he had been unable to save himself.
