"Come on Yu! You don't want to be late for the train!" Lavi called out to the young man with long blue hair tied in a high ponytail that was traveling at a slow pace behind him. Kanda sent a murderous glare his way.
"Shut up, and don't call me that or you'll lose your head!" Kanda threatened.
Lavi shook his head, laughing. "How come I can't call you by your first name?"
"Because I said so!"
"But I like calling you Yu!!"
"Well I don't!"
"Why?"
"Because…"
"Is it because it's rude to call you your first name because you're Japanese?"
"………"
"Yu?"
"DIE!"
"Okay, I'm sorry! Don't hurt me!" Lavi cried, running onto the train. Kanda sighed and followed forth. He walked down a few aisles and found himself sitting across from Lavi. Lavi laid his elbow on the armrest and rested his chin on his hand, staring out the window.
"Yu?" He questioned, without looking at him.
Kanda clenched his teeth with anger and annoyance. "What?" He muttered.
"Why won't you allow me to call you by your first name?"
Kanda glared at him, already wanting to stab him with mugen. "Because we're not friends! There you happy?! I answered your stupid question!"
"You mean we're not friends?"
"Of course not!" Kanda just snorted, crossing his legs looking out the window. "Why would I be friends with an idiot like you?!"
Lavi didn't reply to Kanda's remarks. He still had his eye looking out the window. The train had started moving and they were off on another mission together once again. Kanda kept his eyes looking out the window also. After an hour of silence with both of the young men focusing their attention to window, Lavi turned his gaze to Kanda. Lavi stared at him for a while before deciding to speak. "Yu?"
Kanda shifted his eyes towards him without turning away from the window. "Hm?"
"So you don't consider me your friend? Not at all?"
"Pretty much!"
"Not even once?"
"NEVER!"
"I see."
"Che."
"Yu?"
"WHAT?!"
Lavi gave Kanda one of his goofy grins.
"I've never once considered you my friend either."
