There was rain falling on the ground, soaking everything it came in contact with. I poked my head outside the door, knowing that we were going to have to ride out the storm. Knowing that she was still at the Jeffersonian, and that she would eventually try to leave in this bad weather, I decided to brave it, maybe convince her to stay with me if she really wanted to sleep in a bed.
Rolling out of the position I was in on the couch, I grabbed my keys, coat, gun, and badge and stepped out of the apartment. Once I reached the street, I realized it was raining much harder than I had anticipated. Running quickly to the truck, I shut the door and looked down at my clothes, which were soaking wet. Looking at my watch, I realized that there was a good chance that she would try to leave. Flipping open my phone, I typed a quick text to her, telling her to stay. She didn't reply, but I could pretty much see her groaning at me coming to get her. She always claimed that my alpha male tendencies were overwhelming, and that she hated them. But deep down, I think she truly loved them.
Pulling up in front of the Jeffersonian, I sprinted into the lab, hoping that she hadn't ignored my warning and tried to leave anyway. I found her hunched over her desk, head in her arms. I ran my hand across my face, relieved that she hadn't left. I pushed her chair back from her desk and pulled her into my arms, grabbing her coat and bag in the process. Involuntarily, I guess, she snuggled into my chest, burying her head in the crook between my shoulder and arm, as if it was made for her.
I walked out the door of the lab and through the museum, hoping that when we went outside, the rain would have slowed down enough that she wouldn't get soaked. I felt her stir in my arms, but she didn't wake up, instead, she whispered my name, quiet and calm, but enough to arouse my deepest emotions for her. I stepped out the front door and looked at her as she got soaked. Her eyes opened wide and she automatically pushed away from my chest, giving me a slight punch and standing on her own two feet.
"What are you doing Booth?"
I sighed, this was going to be a tough one to explain.
"I came to get you because the roads are really bad, and I didn't want you to drive home, so I am bringing you home with me."
Her eyes seemed to sparkle as we stood in the rain, staring at each other, not speaking. She leaned forward, putting her right hand on my chest, just above my heart. My eyes widened as she put her other hand on the middle of my back, pushing me towards her.
Brushing her lips just against mine, I felt the fireworks explode as she explored my mouth with her tongue.
"Wow. Booth."
This was just another one of my fantasies that has come true.
