Chapter 1
It was a mission that was doomed to go wrong right from the start.
Sent to a forest in the middle of nowhere, alone but for Sousuke and a few cadets, Kurz had always known that something would go wrong. It was just plain unlucky that it had gone down as badly as it had. Who would have known that Gauron would be there on top of the terrorists that they had originally been after? Why should the bastard have been there? Kurz had didn't know nor care but he knew it was bad news.
Of course, a battle was unavoidable and it wasn't long before Kurz was separated from the rest of the team and facing off against Gauron. It had already been a long battle and both were exhausted but Gauron obviously had the upper hand.
The two had resorted to using long range rifles long ago but the battle had gotten closer and closer and Kurz knew that Gauron had figured out that close quarters was his greatest weakness. After that, the battle was already won.
Kurz saw the gun at his chest plate too late.
There was a massive explosion as the gun went off at point blank range. Gauron watched it fall with great satisfaction. The pilot was too good a marksman to be left alive. He bent down to make sure the pilot was dead and saw a young, blond haired man in his early twenties crushed in the metal of his AS. The blonde's legs were obviously crushed as was one arm.
Blood seeped in large quantities from his side and his unresponsiveness only confirmed either death or unconsciousness. It wasn't like the man could move anyway.
Gauron considered whether or not to kill the Mithril soldier and after some debate decided to leave it up to someone else. He keyed his comm.
"Shadow! I've got an unarmed, injured, possibly dead Mithril sharp shooter that I just shot down here. Come and make sure he's dead for me will you? I want to find Kashim."
"Affirmative sir!" His subordinate's confirmation came back through the line.
Gauron smiled.
"Now for you, Kashim!" he said and disappeared into the surrounding black of the night.
