In a school like Hogwarts, a boarding school with a rather stunning deficiency where adult supervision is concerned, the students can get up to quite a bit without the teachers knowing. Especially when the "unthinkable" happens and members from each House get together, call a truce, and plot. With Gryffindor bravery, Hufflepuff hard work, Ravenclaw intelligence, and Slytherin cunning working together, the world would either fall into ruins or be changed for the better. Either way, nothing would be the same again.
At least, on the grand scale, perhaps a few years down the road. At the moment, three of the four students, one from each House, were discussing much less sinister things. Like which was better, anime or manga.
"I'm telling you, Lisa, the anime was better! Seeing the characters come to life outside the imagination is like performing a spell instead of just learning of it!"
"Colin Creevey, no matter what you say, no matter how long you say it, I stand by my word. The manga was better."
Yes, Hogwarts was playing host to an anime/manga club with members from all four houses and from different years. It was secret, of course, for two reasons: one, to protect their Slytherin members from discrimination; and two, to protect their half-blood and rare pureblood members from discrimination. Anime and manga are, after all, muggle creations, and none of them wanted their new friends to be in danger.
The heated discussion between Colin and Lisa was brought to a screening halt when the door to their secret club room opened to show a red-faced Terence Higgs dressed in drag.
"I suppose you think I look funny dressed like this."
"You could say that, yeah," Justin Finch-Fletchley agreed weakly, his eyes wide in shock.
"What happened to you!" Colin exclaimed after the surprise factor wore off.
"It seems," Terence began, "the Weasley twins have... Found out about our club. They're apparently rather upset they weren't invited to join and set up a prank just down the hall from the door."
"How do you know it's the Weasley twins?" Lisa asked incredulously. "And why do they care?"
Terence sighed. "They set up a message for whoever tripped the prank. Apparently, they're rather big fans of anime and thought it a fitting prank to have the victim be dressed in an outfit worn by a character in an anime."
Sure enough, Terence was dressed almost exactly like Asuna from Sword Art Online season one. Justin started laughing once he realized who he was dressed as and from which anime. He loved SAO, really, but seeing Terence dressed like that was too much.
Yes, eventually the world would know true fear, or true awe, but that time was not now.
