Katherine sighed for the fifth time in minutes, running a hand through her disgruntled auburn hair. The chair she sat on at her desk proved to be no help either, as she constantly fidgeted around to move to a more comfortable spot. Biting her lip, she raised her hands and tried to attack the typewriter with the same inspiration she had received last night. To no avail. She pressed her hands to her forehead, resting her elbows on the desk. Katherine was thoroughly, imminently, epically stuck.
"Need some help, ace?" And suddenly Jack was at her side, leaning over her shoulder with a cup of coffee in his hand. She took the cup, bringing it to her lips and taking a long drink, hoping her inspiration would spark that way.
"It's an article about child labor laws," Katherine explained, gesturing to the blank sheet of paper before her. "The trouble is, everything important has already been said about Governor Roosevelt's proposals and all. Everything's already been covered."
Jack took her cup of coffee and absentmindedly took a sip from it. He placed it back on the desk, patting Katherine's shoulder. "Ya don't need to say anythin' that important about it, Kat. Jus' write from personal experience. Write what ya know, that's what they say, right?"
Katherine smiled softly, already turning back to the typewriter with a new idea in mind. "Yes."
"Then…do that!" Jack gestured to the typewriter, and left for the kitchen.
