I just wrote this randomly on my iPod in the staff room at work. What can I say, I'm addicted to Sirius/Regulus ;D
Oblivion
Sirius is falling, and the world in front of him is going blurry. It feels so surreal, but he knows the reality of it.
He is dying.
He knows that because of the look of horror on Remus's face as he runs towards him. Sirius can't move. He has no choice but to fall to his death.
"SIRIUS!"
Remus's cry of his name echoes around the room like some sort of eerie song. He wants to call back to Remus and tell him not to be upset by his death. He wants to tell Remus to move on quickly, but he can't move his lips.
Remus's outline becomes more and more difficult to see, until the veil engulfs him.
He's in total darkness.
Sirius wonders if he's dead already because it seemed painless.
He can move again. He swivels around to discover there is nothing but darkness around him. He hopes he's not going to be lost in this terrifying oblivion forever.
"Sirius?" Calls a quiet voice. Sirius recognises the voice and closes his eyes, hoping that it is not his imagination. He hasn't heard that voice for years.
He turns around and stops when his eyes meet another pair of grey eyes. Grey eyes he's missed so much.
"Reg," he says. His brother is still as handsome as Sirius could remember and he can feel his heart rate pick up even though he doubts he has a heart since he's dead.
"I've been waiting for you," Regulus says reaching out to brush his hand across Sirius's cheek. "All this time. I still love you."
Sirius smiles and tangles his fingers through Regulus's hair. "You've been waiting for me here in this darkness for all these years?"
Regulus nods. "I didn't want to move on without you."
"I love you," Sirius says holding his brother close. "I've missed you."
"Me too."
They stare into each other's eyes and Sirius closes the gap between them with a soft kiss.
It is the greatest feeling, knowing that he is finally back with the person he loves.
Oblivion isn't scary any longer. Oblivion is heaven.
