There is a crackle of interference and a muffled shuffle of someone messing with recording equipment.

"The light is on!"
"Oh hello Night Vale. Carlos here. I know you were expecting Cecil and that's the problem. So was I."
"I turned on my radio to hear the show and instead of being greeted by the beautiful voice of my boyfriend Cecil the radio host, I got silence."
"And I know time is weird here in Night Vale but Cecil is always very professional. He's never missed a show as long as I've known him."
"So I decided to try and find him. But he didn't answer my calls, or texts or my latest SnapChat! He always replies to those!"
"So I figured the next best thing was to come to the station and see him in person. Maybe he was just busy? Or his phoned died? Although I'm pretty sure I saw him charging it last night..."
"Anyway, when I came into the studio, I walked past the panicked interns, but they seem to generally be in some state of panic every time I'm here so I didn't think much of it. I noticed the studio door was open so I just came in."
"Then I saw this."
"Oh right you can't see me, I just made a gesture to point out what I had found. Man was I glad I took my Claritin today. I had just figured in case I had to go in the bathroom here and be in the same room as Khoshekh. Because if I sneeze in his presence he gets agitated."
"But I came into the studio and found this cat in Cecil's chair and it was leaning towards the soundboard, like it was trying to jump on it.. I figured that it wasn't the best idea to have a cat pushing buttons, getting hair everywhere." Carlos sighs.
"But I decided that cat was on to something, the show must go continue... or however that saying goes. And I guess I can put this out to you, the radio audience, have you seen Cecil? Why is there a cat in the studio? Although this is a very affectionate cat...there you go little guy, oh wait hold on."
"Yup, it's a boy."
"So I guess until Cecil shows up I'll just do my best to keep his show going. Hopefully he'll show up soon and we can get the news the proper way. Now where is that sheet... I know I just saw it... Oh there it is."
"I guess if anyone of you know where Cecil is you can call the station... I think I know how to answer the phone on air... I might see if I can get the interns to help..."
"You see Cecil was giving me this lesson on how to run to show but I just wanted to know for science, I wasn't expecting practical use."
"So let's see, what is the first order of business..."
