Sig and Izumi first met in the train station in south when they were about to go to Central. Both are fond of traveling and when their eyes met, even though it is awfully cheesy, they knew that they are meant to be together.
He eventually proposed to Izumi. It was sweet. Imagine a huge man, getting down on his knees and asking for your hand in marriage. Izumi said yes, of course. Back then, they didn't know how their lives will go.
They got married and went through a lot of things together. The death of their child, Izumi performing human transmutation and losing her intestines in the process, discovering that their child is a homunculus is something that made their relationship even stronger. He knew that she will, someday leave him but he didn't care if she does. He only wanted to spend his life with her.
Sig looked at Izumi who was sleeping peacefully beside him. He moved carefully so that he wouldn't wake her up and left the house. He bought her chrysanthemums and went back home. He put the flowers on her bedside and continued with his daily routine.
Izumi woke up to find the flowers near her. She looked at the flowers. She knows who gave it to her. It was Sig. She read the note, saying:
I will forever remain faithful. I love you and I always will.
- Sig
Izumi smiled. It is just like Sig to get all romantic with her. She fixed herself up and went downstairs to greet Sig good morning and a happy Valentine's Day but she didn't find him there. She saw Mason instead.
"Mason, have you seen Sig?"
Mason thought about it for a moment.
"No. I haven't."
Izumi nodded and proceeded to finding her husband but before she went outside the house, she found Sig standing in the doorway.
"Hi, honey!" Greeted Izumi.
"Good morning, Izumi." Said Sig. "Did you get my flowers?"
"Yes! I did, thank you!" she replied, "They were beautiful."
Now, Izumi and Sig have this special relationship that always seems as if they are newlywed couples. They are happy, loving and sweet. Sig embraced her, Izumi did the same.
"Izumi, I will be faithful to you, even when you go." He said.
"I know," Izumi said, I know." She felt her tears run down her face.
"I love you." She said.
"I love you too."
The day just flew like every other day and it is now time for them to sleep. They said their goodnights and kissed. The next morning, when Sig tried to wake Izumi up, she couldn't be awakened. He knew there and then that she will be in an eternal slumber. Tears fall from his eyes but he managed to smile. He knows that time will go slowly from now on.
It's been quite long since she died, February 15th. Right after Valentine's Day. Sig sat in front of Izumi's grave. He is missing her. Again, he gave her chrysanthemum, a symbol of his undying fidelity.
