Before her eyes were even awake, she could tell he was still asleep. The weight of his arm across the small of her back was only one clue, but the other was the sound of slow, even breathing. It still worried Mira to wake up to the sound of silence, spare for her lover's breathing. She smiled when she opened her eyes, greeted with his face that would only ever be relaxed now, and the rest of the room dark, spare for the few rays of sunlight that snuck past the curtains.

With a small sigh, Garrus rolled off his stomach and onto his side. His arm left a cold spot on the skin on her back, which prickled as her body reacted. Mira calmly reached over to place her hand in his open palm. The soft leather of his hand was never forgotten by her, but when she looked at her painted nails, she couldn't help but grin.

"What are you doing?" Garrus had just finished a long sparring session in the other room, and was walking out to the living area. Instead of finding Mira sitting forward on the couch watching her movie, she was bent over sideways, with her knee pulled up to her chest. It looked strange, and there was a very distinct odor in the air that he couldn't place - he'd never smelled it before.

"I'm painting my nails... why?" she looked up innocently with a small bottle of bright blue something and a brush in her hands.

"I've never seen you do that. Why are you doing that?" He stood there, and watched as she shrugged, head ducking back down so she could see better.

"I just feel like it, is all." there was a pause as she sat back, looking at her freshly painted toes with a smile, then up to him as she closed the bottle. Garrus noticed only then that not only was the blue on her feet, but her hands as well. "It's just a thing human females do every now and then. There's not really anything special behind it, so far as I know."

"Hm... why blue?"

"To match your armor." she smirked, as she stood up, cleaning off the coffee table of her assortment of items and walking back up to the bedroom, presumably to put her things away.

They'd only been living together a month, and already it was proving to be an easy, effortless addition to their relationship. Her blue nails were glistening in the small amount of light that caught them, and she eventually smoothed her whole hand out so that their palms were touching. Mira closed her eyes for a few seconds, enjoying the calm of the early morning. She didn't have to do anything she didn't want to these days, and for the most part, she didn't do much without Garrus beside her.

Eventually she felt her stomach starting to feel sore from laying on it all night, and with Garrus' arm gone, she sat up on her knees, stretching. The blanket pooled around her naked hips, but left her front entirely exposed. With a sigh, Mira looked around the room some. There wasn't much else besides the bed in here, but it was all they needed. Of course, there were a couple of piles of clothing that were sitting on the floor that really needed to be picked up, but that could be done later. Her gaze eventually fell back to Garrus, wondering when he might wake up.

Reaching forward, she brushed her hand over his mandible, humming softly as it twitched. His head burrowed into the pillow more. Chuckling quietly, Mira leaned forward a bit more, set on waking him gently. It took several minutes, and she eventually positioned herself on her hands and knees so that she could more properly wake him, but his eyes did open.

"Well good morning." he purred, yawning and laying on his back, easily pulling her over himself. She couldn't help but giggle, already shivering at the feeling of his hands on her bare skin.

"Hope you don't mind me waking you up early." she beamed as she leaned down to give him a kiss. Her hair fell from behind her shoulders, curtaining their face in a black mess until she pulled away. One hand left her hip and he started to play with the ends of her hair.

"I will never mind as long as you're the one waking me up. Anyone else, and I'm going back to sleep." Garrus chuckled and she joined him before wriggling her hips a little, causing him to groan quietly. His hand seemed to "slip" from her hair, brushing over the point of her breast. She was still wearing a bra.

"Well I'm not about to let you fall back asleep any time soon."

"Oh no." he closed his eyes,

"Oh yes." she grinned and leaned down again to place her teeth one his neck.

If anything, she felt more restless now than she had when she retired from the Alliance. He was too close to her for her to be able to focus on whatever it was they were watching before going to bed, and her legs could only do so much. She wanted to go to bed now, not in an hour. She looked up for about the hundredth time, and he failed to notice, probably because his eyes were half shut. Mira sighed quietly and shifted herself so that she was turned toward him a little more.

"Hon, you look a little tired." she said softly, innocently brushing her hand over his mandibles. His eyes opened again and he took in a large breath.

"I think I am a little tired... Do you even want to watch this?"

"Not really." she smiled, sitting up again so that he could go turn it off. When he turned around she had both feet planted firmly on the ground, legs apart just enough...

"Hm... That's why you couldn't sit still." he smirked as he walked back over to her, looking more awake. She gave him a look like she didn't have any idea what he was talking about, until he had backed her to lay on the couch.

"In my defense it's been a few weeks." she grinned, stretching her neck to kiss him, glad that he held her body hostage until he'd carried her all the way up the stairs, never breaking the kiss. They'd gotten just outside the room before the need to strip each other of their clothes became too great to ignore. Most of the clothes made their way inside, luckily, and suddenly Mira was given a gentle shove, sending her off balance backwards onto the bed. She'd never been pushed like that, before, but someone she didn't mind it.

Her knees were at the edge of the bed, and under his gaze she was fixed in her place. He moved over her to graze his teeth over her neck, and before she knew it she was writhing and moaning beneath him as his tongue did amazing things to her.

Unfortunately that had been the extent of their night, with a bit of cuddling afterwards until they both found themselves asleep. She'd muttered something about making sure he made up for the past few weeks in full in the morning. He'd complained but it seemed that now he was more than eager for them to finally release all the tension that had been building up between them.

"If I didn't know better, I'd think you were pretending to be asleep just so you could pull me into your lap like this." she grinned as he sat up to lean against the headboard on the bed, holding her hips down, forcing contact. She tried teasing him with a roll of her hips, but his hands allowed for no such movement.

"If you want to know, I was actually having a nice dream that was strangely similar to this..." he purred. Although he was still in a groggy state, he was begging her with his eyes to come closer. It was a little strange to her how much he craved her human kisses.

"Well now I'm interested." she chuckled, kissing him softly and slowly. His hand was slow to trail up her back, and to tangle in the mass of black hair as she continued kissing him, but when she rolled her hips, she gasped softly. She parted from the kiss, and looked up from under her eyelashes, open mouth slowly curving into a smile as she readjusted herself. As she did so, she let out a soft moan at the same time he hissed. "So tell me, Garrus," her voice suddenly very sultry as she flipped her hair back over her shoulders, "what happened in your dream?"
