A/N: Flower Language and Thread Bound will be updated shortly! They're still in the rough draft stages. So have a Lon'qu/Lissa story I wrote for my good friend.

Lon'qu had to remind himself not to pull away from Lissa when she reached for his hand. The fact that he, of all people, had a wife was something he had to get used to quickly, and the thought of having a wife was scary enough.

A husband was supposed to touch and love his wife. Was he capable of doing that? What kind of a husband was he if he couldn't even love his wife physically?

He loved her emotionally. He loved everything about her.

"No more distance," he promised her with a small smile. Easier said than done, indeed. If he loved her so much, why couldn't he reach out to her? No, he needed to fix this problem quickly.

The newlyweds sat in a grassy field together. It was a warm summer day and Lissa was enjoying the weather. She fiddled with the flowers near her, going on about how beautiful they were and how she should pick some before the day was over. He listened, partially anyway, and nodded his head when he needed to.

"Lissa," he spoke softly. His voice caused her to turn to him, a smile on her face as usual as she tilted her head.

"What's wrong, Lon'qu?"

He needed to fix his problem. Slowly, he reached his hand out, extending it to her cheek. He stopped for a moment and thought about pulling away. No, you need to get over this. You need to be there for her.

His hand finally rested on her cheek, using his thumb to gently stroke it. The princess was confused at first but she found herself laughing gently as she held his hand there. She closed her eyes and nuzzled her cheek against it. Soft, loving blue eyes opened to glance up in his stern hues and the two silently looked at each other for a minute.

"No more distance," Lon'qu said quietly as a smile formed on his face. Lissa nodded and leaned in, softly pressing her lips against his. It shocked him at first but finally, he managed to ease into it without much problem. Lissa pulled away, the smile on her face growing.

"No more distance."

They walked back to the castle, hand in hand, and for once Lon'qu felt content with his life.
