Pokémon Championship 2015
Introduction
An upcoming new trainer Rocco has just earned his placement in the Pokémon Championship 2015. This new event hosted in the Kalos region is similar to that of the Pokémon World Tournament in Unova.
However the Pokémon Championship is told to host Gym Leaders, Elite Four Members, Champions and Legendary Trainers allowing them to unleash their most powerful Pokémon in an all-ou battles for The Grand Championship.
Unlike any other battle tournament all Pokémon are eligible for entry including Legendary Pokémon. Each tournament will host a series of battles with each win allowing the trainer to progress to the next stage. There will be two qualifying rounds for progression in the tournament, leading to a placement match, then to the semi-finals and eventually the Grand finale. This will lead to a total of 5 full 6v6 battles for the victor.
All battles are randomly selected and each battlefield will be randomly selected from, Grassland, Ice, Mountain, Water (With various small islands) Lava and Stormy conditions such as visibility reducing effects.
Rocco
Rocco had begun his journey in the Johto region and has travelled to many other Regions in his journey, collecting various Pokémon along the way. Rocco had a very particular way of battling. It was a perfect balance between sheer strength and various strategic tactics. This worked well and Rocco trained a variety of Pokémon to high levels and conquered many gyms. He even placed in the top four of both the Indigo League and the Sinnoh League.
Day One - Battle One
The Huge Pokémon Championship Stadium was unlike anything Rocco had ever seen in his journey. This stadium was vastly bigger than any Stage at the Pokémon League, The atmosphere was beyond electric as Rocco entered the battlefield alongside the many other competing trainers. Rocco recognised some leaders that he had defeated while on his journey, some he didn't of course there were some new faces and then the Champions of various other Regions. Rocco knew this would be one hell of a tournament. The crowd roared and cheered as the huge screen over the stadium began to randomise the trainers and the scene was set for the first battle.
Rocco was matched with Lorelei, The field for the match was also randomised as Ice. "Typical" Rocco said under his breath, knowing that the first match instantly was in favour of her Ice type Pokémon.
The Sun was high in the sky and at 2pm the battle commenced. A huge turnout arrived for the first match as it was an Elite Four member vs a trainer who had placed in the top 4 of two different Pokémon Leagues.
"Good luck Rocco, this might only be your first match, but it will also be your last" Lorelei sarcastically said. With a burst of frost and an icy breeze Cloyster was sent out centre stage.
"Gigalith lets go" said Rocco. A huge rumble shook the stadium from the weight of Gigalith hitting the icy field. Huge cracks of ice began forming around Gigalith.
Cloyster unleashed an arctic cold ice beam straight towards Gigalith. "Protect" Rocco screamed as ice beam hit the wall of protection surrounding Gigalith.
Cloysters speed was tremendous as it began sliding along the ice intimidating Rocco.
Rocco knew he was in trouble as both Pokémon were weak to one another but this field was totally in Cloysters favour. "Water Pulse but slide towards Gigalith as you fire" exclaimed Lorelei as Cloyster charged a huge pulse of water and fired it directly at Gigalith. The added momentum and speed from the ice allowed for huge impact ! Gigalith didn't have a chance to react and got a super effective hit right off the bat.
"Ohh that's got to hurt" the announcer said as the stadium reacted to the battle. Rocco knew Gigalith was a durable Pokémon and could keep battling, Gigalith then unleashed an Earthquake that moved the battlefield entirely. The shards from the weight of Gigalith made the ice easier to break and a large portion of ice disappeared from the field, slamming Cloyster with a direct hit in the process.
Knowing that both Pokémon had taken damage they both ordered a full powered attack. "Cloyster Blizzard" "Gigalith Stone Edge" as both Pokémon's attacks flew across the battlefield slamming into one another, each Pokémon not giving an inch of room to the other. Cloyster immediately slid right and blizzard bypassed Stone edge and hit Gigalith, Hard!
"Finish it Cloyster, Ice Beam" Lorelei said excitedly. Rocco had to think fast but then he remembered a move he once witnessed from a trainer on his travels in the Sinnoh Region. " Gigalith use Stone Edge straight into the ground" Rocco said with a smirk. Gigalith fired a flurry of Rocks straight into the ground. With that Gigalith threw itself into the air and avoided ice beam. However Gigalith continued to fire Stone Edge. " I don't get it? " Said Lorelei, Rocco laughed " What goes up, must come down" As Gigalith landed back on the battlefield and the rocks of Stone Edge rained down on Cloyster. When the dust settled, Cloyster lay in the centre of the field unable to battle. Gigalith won, however this was only the first Pokémon in this battle, and it was already one of the toughest battles Rocco ever faced.
"Good job Cloyster, Rocco, That was impressive but this is only the beginning the real battle starts now" Lorelei said knowing that she would have to use her newly obtained Pokémon for the match.
