He was way over-protective of her. Some found it sweet, others thought of him being too controlling of her, which could later lead to abuse. But there was one thing for sure, Charlie would never hurt her.

Charlie Pace grew up in a poverty-stricken neighborhood in Manchester. His father was the local butcher and made decent money before he turned to the bottle. That was when everything changed. Charlie never knew any other way to escape this reality except music. His escape however was a huge cause of what he tried to escape. His father, Grant Pace, thought of music as a huge waste of time and that he wanted footballers for sons, not street performers. Charlie tried to please his father, but he just was incapable of finding his niche in any form of sport, so he lied to his father. He told him he made the football team although he would secretly go rehearse with his fellow members of his garage band.

Everything went very well until his father decided to get off work early to watch one of the practices and could only find one of his two sons on the field. At first he assumed Charlie might be in the bathroom, so he waited until the end of the practice at which there was no sight of his younger son. This frustrated him a lot, so he left to go back to their home.
