He took the note from her forever limp hand. A tear ran down his cheek as he read it out loud.

"My love,

I know that by the time you see this I will have gone. I now understand the burden that you carry, and I have decided to help you relieve it. Please do not think that this is your fault. I was blinded by a mask of lies, and the fault is mine. I should've seen it coming." He paused and took another deep breath as he continued. "What I don't, and will never understand, is why you didn't tell me that you loved her. Don't deny it. I'm smarter than you think. But, was she the one who you kissed when our lips met? Was she the one you held in my place at night? Was she the one you spent all of your time with while I was banished to the darkest corners of your mind?"

He paused once again and looked at her body. Her skin was pale, even more so than usual. Her violet hair was behind her and spread out across the emerald sheets. Her wonderful amethyst eyes were now lifeless and dull. Just looking at her caused him to cry even more. He regained his composer as best he could and continued.

"The pain that I feel right now is too much for me to handle. A hole has been ripped through my chest and nothing but the sweet silence and blackness of death can fill it. I loved you with all of my being, and your love was false, and just a bunch of empty words. I don't understand how you could lie so easily, while I suffered silently. So silently, that even I didn't know how immense the pain was. I'm freeing you from the ties that bind us, and freeing myself from even more pain. I will love you forever and always. Goodbye, my Gar. Be happy."

He let the paper slip from his hand. It instantly soaked up the water that was on the floor from when the glass dropped from her hand. The paper turned red from the poison that she'd put into it to kill herself. He looked over to her.

" Oh, Raven," He sobbed, "You had it all wrong. I wasn't in love with her anymore. She was still in love with me and I was trying to get her to leave me alone. I love you, and only you forever and eternity." He picked up the glass and drank some of the tainted water. Gar lied down next to her and put his arms around her cold skin. He closed her eyes softly and then shut his own, greeting the soft death that was creeping over him. "I'll be with you now, Rae. Forever and always."
