A random idea that popped into my head.
Melody dragged herself over the hill, sweat dripping down her face. Her body reeked of perspiration, and her dress was in tatters. She let out a short, harsh laugh at the thought that it wasn't much worse than it had been before, and immediately wished she hadn't; her head swam with exhaustion, and a wave of pain swept over her body, nausea stabbing her stomach like a knife, but there was nothing left in it to vomit.
She came to a stone wall with a metal gate and sighed. Slowly, Melody worked her foot into the small chinks in the stones, and pulled herself over the wall with shaky arms. She fell, not-so-gracefully, to the cold dirt ground, and pulled herself to her feet. "Ow."
She gasped at the scene before her. "Oh, it's beautiful," Melody whispered.
"Excuse me!"
Melody whirled around to face a pretty girl hurrying toward her. "Please, don't run!" the girl called. But Melody was already gone, scrambling away, through the fields and toward the forest.
Yes, it is extremely short. But I have a lot of ideas and stories to work on.
